Revisionist dd spins the tale of dmo greatness convinently ignores that he had a hof talent in harden making everybody look great and boosting his stats. Harden was so good we were able to dupe the pelicans into trading and signing asik to a contact. Dmo fell off the planet after he left the fountain of greatness aka as harden. Sengun with a wannabe harden is doing better than dmo in his third year. Sengun undoubtedly will look like the second coming of joker if he had harden or an actual pg. Dmo is a better 3 pt shooter, only bc the sample size is too small for sengun and he's not a willing participant
Dmo could do everything Sengun can do now, is a better defender, and a better stretch shooter.....Sengun is not that special. He has a great old school post game and not much else. DD
umm yeah, this organization is truly in a pathetic stage when a thread like this gets bumped and turned into a Sengun debate rock bottom isn't much further than this
The Ultimate Troll of Clutchfans Universe will always be out of the list as the main source of entertainment.
You guys think Sengun would do more than Dmo? Really? Ok, I disagree, I think they are super similar, but Dmo was a way better athlete. DD
dude what were you watching? Dude couldn’t get an NBA contract while sengun will make an allstar player. I will come ba k and remind you!
Statistically, this is just not true. DMo's best season was 2015. Currently, Sengun not only has better counting stats, but also a greater BPM and WS/48 so far this season. And I'm not even as high on Sengun as other folks here.
In case you didn't notice, we don't do statistics in DD threads. You just have to post more often than the other person to win.
D-Mo was awesome for only about 2 months playing basically as Harden’s 2nd fiddle. Those were really fun weeks to be a Rockets fan. But before that point for multiple seasons D-Mo couldn’t stay on the floor because of foul trouble and was a liability defensively. As a 4 he didn’t have the versatility and athleticism they felt they needed and so that’s there the TJones vs D-Mo battle came from with people (or really just JoPat/Hollic/Bobby) passionately denying reality because Jones was playing minutes and D-Mo wasn’t. But after those super fun 2 months where D-Mo was awesome I believe a back injury happened that ultimately led to a failed physical and the league being scared off of giving him a real contract… and the rest is history… off to China. It’s a shame cause I really enjoyed his 7 foot Scola type of game. Those Harden/D-Mo weeks though were some of the best Rockets in-season basketball this franchise has produced. I wish we could have gotten seasons worth of that but I guess the league (not just the rockets) were too scared of whatever was going on with his back. I think Sengun already has achieved more that D-Mo ever did though on the court even though those two months were more meaningful because the Rockets were trying to win a title. Hopefully Sengun gets more than accolades and highlights on a bad team which I suspect he will. However if he doesn’t learn from the D-Mo’s of the past that the NBA has a low need for old school post up bigs, and a greater need for pick and rollers/shooters/defenders at the 5, I do fear that it’s possible his talents could find their way to FIBA sooner than later. Hard to say who was more talented (I’d lean Sengun slightly… but D-Mo was pretty damn talented) but most importantly D-Mo is a lesson that hopefully someone close to Alpi can teach him. Make yourself useful first. The NBA isn’t going to change its game overnight just for you. Mold your game into the role that your team needs. Get the meaningful minutes first that help win games.
