It's a battle of narratives. Men are always violent, Women never lie - Narrative 1 Men are never violent, Women always lie - Narrative 2 My observation Men are sometimes violent, Women sometimes lie But it's hard to wait, investigate and determine the facts and most people aren't patient enough to find out when choosing a narrative is easy.
I think you trade for Corrasco and get better for taking on the contract. Then trade Garcia and Whitley along with Perez and Maton for Reynolds and you got a heck of a ball club
2 other women have come forward. One even tried to get a restraining order against him when he was in Cleveland.
A World Championship team built around being a close knit family with Dusty in the drivers seat isn't taking on the negative story's of Trevor Bauer. Crane and several players have all mentioned the family environment on the teams. There would have to be indisputable proof he was innocent before players with stroke sign off on him being here, most of these guys don't want answer questions about domestic violence on a team.
Hmmmmmm... if there was only a recent example of a player being accused of sexual assault but not criminally charged, suspended but not as long as the league wanted, and going to another team to compare this to....
I'm sorry, but I can't see how Corrasco makes the Astros a better team. Every SP for the Astros has a better ERA+ and is younger with more control. Corrasco 97 ERA+ Brown 394 McCullers 171 Javier 152 Valdez 137 Garcia 104 Urquidy 98
Just an under the radar move... To Milwaukee Joe Perez To Houston Joey Wiemer Brewers don't have much at 3B (Abraham Toro / Luis Urias). Wiemer is their #3 prospect but #3 outfielder. Plays all 3 outfield positions. 23 last season in AAA: .287 / .368 / .520 / .888 174 plate appearances I think he could come in and compete with Leon and McCormick for centerfield.
Good for him... not worth it to me after getting Brantley back. Main concerns are centerfielder/catcher. He doesn't solve those.
The one thing i think is sad about the offseason—all of the work, contract offers, research and wooing—at the end of it all we got one new player. Meanwhile we lost our star SP, our only LHRP, our utility IF and our 2 trade deadline assets. Now we are relying on S Martinez, Maton, Hensley, Meyers and Lee/Diaz to fill the void. That’s a lot of wagering on AAA graduates. Sure feels like a missed opportunity to lengthen the World Series champions.
