Will Levis will probably be better than Wilson, but yeah you can’t rely on a prospect developing mentally which is why I want Bryce Young. No matter how good your defense is, if there’s no offense it will struggle both physically and mentally. It’s much more demoralizing to a fan base and a team when you can’t score any points because there’s no hope.

Will Levis is closer to Lawrence and Lance than Wilson.
Which is better than Wilson or Fields.

Not sure why Lance is being put anywhere near Lawrence at this point. Lance hasn’t proven anything yet other than he’s probably better than Wilson.

I wouldn’t put Lance over any of the QBs
I’m talking more physical attributes and upside.

Lance, Lawrence and Levis are big guys with ridiculous arm talent. Wilson has arm talent and athleticism but isn’t as big, and seems to be a dummy.
Comparing Wilson to Levis is like comparing Young to Baker or Murray.

If Wilson were bigger, he’d still suck, so not sure what your point is. Being big as a qb doesn’t correlate with success.

Possibly. I’m just comparing the profiles.
Wilson has everything you can ask for in a new age QB, except for the ability to process and make reads. Still time to develop that.

If the fans can be patient and stomach Mills for another season or two, hopefully with a new oc if not entire coaching staff, Anthony Richardson could be very enticing. Trade back and get him at 10-12.

And this is the major issue. Too many people take for granted that these are things that will develop. For many players it never develops or never develops to a high enough lvl that they’re actually good at it. It’s like pocket awareness. Rarely do you see this develop from terrible to really good.

This is the end of Wilson’s second year in the league and he doesn’t look like he can go through reads at all. If he hasn’t shown any progress yet, that’s a very bad sign. I think one of the things about Josh Allen that made people believe that he could pick it up was his progress over the senior bowl week. He could mentally pick it up, he’d just never been exposed or required to do those things before.

I think this is a fair take.
I think the only flip side to this is you have two QBs in Hurts and Tua that looked like career back ups their first two seasons and are playing like top 5 guys in the league right now.
Wilson is more physically gifted than both, but it’s like you said. You have to have the mental capacity.

As far as the Allen tidbits, this is where Levis is going to shine too from what the scouts are saying. Been a few scouts saying he’s going to wow people with his retention, play recognition and leadership in meetings. He’s still young in terms of playing actual QB, the problem with him is his age to experience ratio.

This might be true, but the reason senior bowl was important was Josh Allen could show the progress on the field. Being able to impress in meetings doesn’t necessarily translate to the field unfortunately. Levis could fool a lot of people if they’re not careful.

If the niners make it to the Super Bowl with Purdy the Texans need to call SF and see what the asking price is for Lance.

Will Levis is no where near Lawrence in College. Levis is Gabbert, Bortles, Locker, Wilson, etc…actually, some of them QBs had better numbers. Levis had bust written all over him.

You’re looking at stats. I’m looking at ability.

Young can very well be Seneca Wallace, Tyrod Taylor, Troy Smith.

If stats were the only thing that mattered , Ohio St QBs would be better and Jason White would have been a HOFer.

Ability? You are literally saying he can throw a ball 70 yards and 60+mph. JaMarcus Russell could throw the ball 80 yards. You know what Im looking at with Young? Production. None of those QB’s listed have the stats of Young, playing for Alabama.

Have you looked at Wallace, Smith, Taylor’s production in college? The only that had a season even close to Young is Smith. And that is Young “down” year. None of the showed the pocket presence of Young.

It is not about just stats, it is how you play against good teams. You should actually watch Young against Georgia, LSU, Tennessee…
