Probably fake PR from the Rockets front office hoping to swindle other teams with FOMO. If they really had 1st round offers for him they wouldn't be risking his ass playing 30+ minutes with the potential of an injury.

Gordon is still here because he has a crazy good relationship with Jalen Green.

Long way to go but I believe in Silas. He is the perfect head coach.

... At getting the best pick possible.

When asked… “Coach said he gave you a few more days of rest and you did seem more energetic, how helpful was that rest?”

He responded… “Oh it’s helpful, I mean it’s a long season. You know it’s the holidays. A lot has been on the mind so those two days definitely helped us. We had this game…we beat ourselves. They came and took one.”

When you look at the whole quote it is not bad for him to mention the holidays. But clickbait “journalists” aren’t interested in doing that.

All I want for Christmas is an Alperen Sengun 10-15 foot jumper.

The fact that we can't figure out a 2/3 zone as a professional basketball team is insane.

Park Sengun at the damn FT line, 2 play baseline/corner and 2 guards moving...This is middle school basketball 101. Sengun's passing ability alone should destroy the zone and we saw that couple of times. But we somehow don't know to keep doing that.

Silas was telling them to do that. Players became indecisive and didn’t execute.

Here’s what Silas said post game:

Sengun was the highest scorer in the previous game and started well to this game. The org never let Sengun to be consecutive team-highest scorer, not in SILAS-KPJ world.

If Silas was serious about playing through Sengun he would get a time-out when 77-62 lead was melting. He did not. No trust whatever he says.

The very idea that Silas was coaching pick-n-roll against a zone indicates that he lacks the requisite background and know how to get uncontested looks against a zone. Even the US national team, with elite championship-level athletes, runs set plays against the zone in the Olympics. The National team learned that you can't roll the ball out there and get the easiest looks. It takes a little coordination, team movement, and energy to break a zone apart (and a good shooter or two would help too). The pick-and-roll approach is the hardest way to go.

Perhaps Tillman or Stone can swing over to the public library and loan Silas a book on how to beat a 2-3 zone. Or Lucas could forward him a tutorial on YouTube.

Even Calvin Murphy said after the game that you defeat a zone by overloading one side and running a pick and roll. That's what they did when Sengun made behind the back pass to KJ Martin for the dunk. Silas knows basketball and he's trying to teach the team how to play. The fire Silas knee-jerk reactions aren't helpful. I think we need to give Silas one more season and Stone needs to do right by him and improve the quality of the roster. Right now Silas is trying to develop a whole team of young talent and it's going to be ugly at times like it was last night.
