We don’t want many more young players . maybe we gamble that a young player or 1st this year can be used to improve our 2nd 1st into a better asset . but , that’s a gamble . We want to trade EG for A 2024 pick . The thing with EG is that he’s good , I think . And he’s on an expiring contract basically . if we aren’t really looking to contend next year (which we aren’t ) .. 20 mil is relatively small enough so that you wouldn’t mind carrying a dead player through next season .... in exchange for a better price . I think we should explore the possibility of taking back a bad contract for Gordon . we are already developing so many young players . Do we ship out KJ as well ? Josh ? I’d say no on josh , his value is low right now. KJ I’d say his value is the best it will be , great job pumping him up . If you look between the lines , I still don’t like him though . he’s on a small contract though , can only add another 2-3 million to the table.
Celtics are paying their backup guards combined 40M/year through 2025. Maybe they’d be interested in shortening that commitment in Eric Gordon with minimal if any drop in production. Rockets could solve two problems by bringing in a proper PG (Brogdon or White) and shifting KPJ to the wing. probably don’t get a first round pick out of this though.
To people who think a trade of EGO + Martin is fine because we have Tari need to look at tonight's game to why that would be a big mistake.
I’d love to see White with this team, but I’m thinking he’s way more valuable to the Celtics than Eric Gordon could ever be.
The 2023 NBA Draft will be crucial to the Rocket Franchise. The ability to secure one of the top two picks will excel the rebuild or delay it another 4 years.
To be sure this draft is important. But what’s been bothering me is the fact that we’ve already accumulated some really good talent, and it doesn’t look like we are developing that talent well. I’d really like to improve our development chops. All the talent in the world isn’t gonna matter if we cant develop our players. but yes, at this point everyone should be all in on the tank… and all in on making some significant changes to the coaching and/from office.
I can only imagine the epic level of meltdown that would occur on the BBS if we did that and people were expecting White to be a 'proper PG'...
Rockets have 47 days left to cut a deal using Gordon. I too am rooting for a Point Guard in return. Shoot any point guard.
