Everyone is making moves. Announce Dubon's 15 year extension, cheapos!

This has to be one of the craziest baseball offseasons in recent history.

Brantley is one of my all time favorite Astros. I think the negative spin is why would you sign someone to a 12 million contract if you aren't sure they can regain function? I think folks thought he had already proven he was physically back.

Also, Cohen holds ~98% ownership interest in the Mets. Crane holds ~40% of the Astros... so, it's not all his money, and he must answer to other shareholders.

Yankees designated Lucas Luetge for assignment. A lefty reliever who pitched well the last 2 years. Any interest for Houston? Or does the Yankees have to trade him to Houston which probably won't happen

Seems like he may have been more lucky than good.

Just a thought now with the giants disaster this offseason...

Maybe they become a dumping ground for bad contracts with 1 year left from teams trying to save tax or just free up for other spending?

They might get a few decent prospects to help contenders...

Then 12 years 600 million to Ohtani..

Yes the tweet is stupidly written backwards.

He should have said that Brantley could be swinging a bat as early as mid January.

Totally agree, they are going to sign Ohtani and that was the number I actually came up with, but I had it at 10 yrs, 60 million.

McCann could have been had for very little apparently. Shipped off to the Orioles and they are chipping in $5 million to do it.

    Another missed opportunity at catcher.

I would have rolled the dice. $5M for a backup catcher, only giving up a PTBNL. While not an elite bat I think he was unlucky and will rebound. Excellent trade for Baltimore, IMO.

At this point, you might as well trot out Lee and Diaz and see what they can do, with Maldy catching 70-ish games.

Mccann makes Maldy look like Mike Trout with the bat. I do not see it as a missed opportunity.

He was an All Star in 2019, and the peripherals were better than the actual results. I can see him batting 230 next year with maybe 15 homers next year. Would have only cost $5M with the money the Mets are eating. But, moot point now.

Totally ridiculous conclusion/assessment, you're looking at one outlier season in which he was downgraded to only 191 plate appearances..

IMO, trade Diaz+ to the Blue Jays for Jansen. Diaz has solid trade value now and could be their DH immediately.

Wasn’t yordan 6 years? Lol, I’m playin, I know there’s a difference… kinda. Anyways yea I know there is a risk, in my opinion, the UPSIDE outweighs the risk. In your opinion, it does not, and something about the team ideals. That’s ok. I’m still down for Kris Bryant.
