KPJ: Can someone explain to me why he has become Clutchfans favorite whipping boy?

Living in Austin, I watched the Rockets vs Spurs recent game and heard the San Antonio tv commentators. There was a play I believe in the 4th quarter with the Rockets losing by 20 in the 4th qtr. KPJ stole the ball and he took it upon himself to score with his styled dunk. Jalen Green was waiting by himself (since he doesnt play defense and cherry picks) and wanted a highlight ally oop dunk. KPJ took it upon himself and dunked it.

Matt Bonnor went on for a while in how that is "chemistry buster". He has played on teams and stated coaches would take the pg and give him verbal abuse due to not passing the ball. Matt Bonnor went on and stated the Rockets play individual ball and Spurs play Team ball.

This is very obvious that KPJ is not the answer. He needs to learn to pass and get his assists up while lessening his turnovers. He needs to be a consistent playmaker. Its not happeneing. Silas needs to "coach" or GTFO

If Bonnor is not careful, DD will accuse him of "bullying" KPJ

interesting that he says the Rockets FO believes this…for those who say it’s all Silas’s doing

if Stone really had a problem with what’s going on, he could’ve been stopped it

It's sad everyone sees KPJ isn't a starter but us and he's hindering our development

i mean we had nobody else to start, but at this point i'd just go tyty for 35 minutes. Hard to believe it could get worse and he might develop into something

I’m sure he spends a lot of time practicing ISO moves with his hype man Chris Brickley

none of it translates to the court against real competition

It can't really get worse since the Rockets don't need to win games this season. There's literally no downside of not playing KPJ for the Rockets.

I'd like to see what we have in TyTy. There's literally no point to playing KPJ

One of the many things attached to kpj by his own people that has nothing to do with reality. Others are good defender, clutch player, can create his shot any time he wants …

I see what the Rox are doing and they are right.

If it doesn't work who cares? We aren't winning for 3 more years anyway.

Got to give it time, while we fans are just gonna b**** and moan until development happens or they move on to the next guy.

Give it up. You don't have to die on that hill for KPJ. It's only a matter of time before he's gone.

You’re committed to tanking for three more years? You are far more patient than you need to be. No team has to suck for six years in a row before they can win. Hell, the Process in Philly lasted half that long. We don’t even have our own draft picks after this year! There isn’t any rebuilding plan that realistically should take three additional years before we can be competitive.

We need to be better, next year. And that starts with a new coach, a top draft pick, and a new PG.

What? Dude, That is some moronic comment. We need to develop the players the correct way to play ball. We cant develop players into individual stats. They need to learn to play as a team and it is a process. The switch cant be just turned on like that in 3 years after playing a certain way. Bad habits develop. I prefer tyty or another gaurd that will think team first. We will lose the same way but development is not lost as much. The team play will rub off on all players and develop them mentally.

No point to lose 3 years with little development and creating bad habits

But if we KNOW that kpj sucks, why not try someone else? What’s the harm?

He loves KPJ even at the detriment of our team. DD attaches himself to garbage players

Yeah. After thinking more about @Mathloom 's theory that Stone is using KPJ as a pawn to tank, I realized that if the goal is to lose, why not lose in a more constructive way--develop a guy that might have a chance to pan out rather than going the KPJ cul-de-sac?

Why not start Nix and give TyTy the backup spot? You can spin some kind of narrative around trying to develop Daishen "lottery talent" Nix and TyTy "draft day steal" Washington. Wouldn't Nix and TyTy be more convincing tank commanders? Is he afraid that Nix and/or TyTy could win more games than KPJ? Why even bother to waste the 16M extension on KPJ? Why wait till next season to jettison KPJ and not now?

Not sure what the slogan for this season is, but I really think they should consider changing it to “Who cares?”

    Efficiency? Who cares?
Roster/rotation decisions fail miserably? Who cares?
Tank for 3 more years? Who cares?
