Mets with Correa onboard has to be the favorite in the NL now. Feels like we are on another collision course with a NL East team in the WS.

Astros beat Mets 4 games to 3 in one of the greatest World Series ever.

I just don’t see why we aren’t making an offer for Bryant. Dude fits almost all holes and backs up key positions.. and he hits well for all of them. Just do it and my off-season is complete

We owe them for 86. Man I’d love that.

if crane is serious he makes this move, the contract isn’t even that bad in the current market. I’m sure Rockies would even cover some of the salary

I associate the utility role with a veteran. I dont like the idea of making a player with potential learn tons of positions his rookie season.

Couple of those guys miss more games than Correa did though, and as a poster just mentioned Drury has never put up numbers anything like last year before

Plus, they are still the Angels

I know cohen is looser with the cash but the Giants were desperate and what they saw gave them concern... between them and the Astros not liking his long term medicals i suspect there is something there with his back.

The mets probably won't care though...

So let me make sure I got this right

We won’t go 6+ years on free agent deals because we don’t want to get stuck with big dead money on our payroll as we try to keep our run going as long as possible

But we should trade for a guy who will be guaranteed 27-28 million a year for the next 6 years, through his age 37 season? A guy who played 42 games last year mainly because of back problems

I’m sure in some world that makes perfect sense

We are the World Champions, we have the top pitching staff in baseball and have greatly improved our offense at 1B

I would love another big addition but NOT at the cost of potentially costing us big down the road

    We are the Champions

The Giants didn't want to end up paying Correa for 7 years to not play baseball, the Mets don't care about their future, they are all in this season

Braves are like the Astros. They are looking at a 6 man rotation. They might still win the division if Charlie Freakin Martin gives them another decent year.

Well, we would obviously be getting money from Colorado in the deal. He also missed most of last season with a combination of plantar fasciitis and a bone bruise in his right foot, far different than back problems.

    Correa/Lindor is a great combo at 3B/SS

Funny seeing Mets, Yankees, and giants assembling super teams and all saying they can beat the Stros now.

This Correa stuff is crazy. Lame ass “super teams” uniting.

Good luck trying to hit Christian Javier though, b****es.

    https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2023-zips-projections-houston-astros/

“As of right now, ZiPS projects the Astros as the second-best team in baseball, just a hair behind the Atlanta Braves. There’s still a lot of offseason to go, but I’d be surprised to see that change much. Houston didn’t enter the winter needing to reinvent the team, just do some maintenance around a roster that won the World Series.”
