KPJ: Can someone explain to me why he has become Clutchfans favorite whipping boy?

KPJ definitely is who he is at PG.

The question is, can he be something more off-ball. It's hard for me to believe so. Why? Because he's not really an "off-ball" player. The entire concept of moving him to PG wasn't asinine from the jump. The guy plays with the ball in his hand, and had some solid creation/assist games his first half year with us.

So if he was JUST going to be a catch and shoot guy that then attacked close-outs... sure, that'd probably be better. BUT, as-is, he's not a good close-out attacker. There's no element of "speed" to his game. Instead its ball control with various AAU-esque ballhandling and herky jerky type moves or shoulder into you moves.

    In short, he's a ball-stopper.

So then can you just hold him accountable to either shoot or pass IMMEDIATELY? Maybe....

But the bigger question then is does he become better than.... Jalen at SG? Lol, no. KMJ or Tari or whomever we can get in draft or FA at SF? Unlikely. Those guys cut and move OR play defense.

Again, these things just aren't intrinsic to the way KPJ plays.

So the final question is... PG off the bench? And that seems MOST likely the best fit for him for this Rockets team going forward, absent moving him.

Maybe, but with his history, I doubt you get much back, so it might be that he stays longer than many here want.

I think it's a negative value contract if he doesn't improve. If KPJ at the end of the year is the same player as KPJ today, I don't think you could trade him.

at this point i'm back to thinking it's best to just let him score. a shot is better than a TO and he already is a black hole.

That's where it would be the best interest of him to come off the bench. He's not going to ever have the same sort of green light to as a starter (presuming you want the team to win games). If he's a 6th man, you can let him pound the rock as much as he wants because it should be good match-ups against other bench players and non-starters. You also have lee-way to yank him if he's cold. As a starter you just can't do that.

It's laughable anyone's thinks he has any value. Put him on the bench where he belongs. I can't believe any Rockets fan wants this bum starting

If KPJ was on almost any other NBA roster, he would be a guard off the bench. Can anyone list a team that he would be the starter on?

Not saying KPJ is doing it pregame but based on my past chilling with players pre/post game some twist up no doubt, and shockingly proclaimed it makes them play better during games

I think even Artest or some other players claimed they drink before or at halftime of games, plus in NFL I think L Taylor played sometimes coked up allegedly, those QB's back in the day smoked cigarettes during games, never know what it was laced with

Its how some of them get down, those athlete entertainers deal with stuff behind the scenes that stress them out that alot of folks have no clue about, which cause mental probs and getting twisted is their form of self medication to deal with it I guess

Cleveland was being a big meanie and dared to move KPJ to a different locker after he had been away from the team for his latest disciplinary reason…that was enough for victimized KPJ to throw food and assault the coaching staff while screaming about slavery or whatever the hell he was reportedly saying

poor KPJ…it is always someone else’s fault according to his stans

Yup, they literally moved him out of the main locker room.....and put him in adjoining room......they knew exactly what they were doing.

Not correct. They moved him to the area where the younger players are and they didn’t take his swing line stapler. He then referenced being in a form of modern slavery as he acted out childishly.
