I dont think Lovie will get fired after 1 year simply for the fact that you can't (or shouldn't) pay 3 former coaches, I think he gets one more year even though I think Ryan should be the coach next year.........it screams incompetence when you fire 3 coaches and still have to pay them.

At a minimum Pep needs to go. Get your next head coach in place for promotion after a year of being the OC. This team needs some sort of innovation on the o side of the ball. Defense is getting close LB and D line in FA.

Close may be an overstatement on my end, close meaning middle of the pack. If the offence does not improve, no matter how good your D is, they will be gassed by 2nd half from being on the field to long.

I'll be ok if they keep Lovie as long as they hire Sean Peyton as the offensive coordinator.

Yes, they are incompetent… whether you need to scream it or not. Lovie Smith was never a highly sought after coach. He was hired in part to mitigate a mythical lawsuit regarding racist practice hirings (of which the Texans are culpable) and if you’re truly going to be starting a rebuild… you need to have as many fundamental pieces in place, including young QB and coach who works with the young QB.

Lovie Smith is not qualified to be a HC. He is a DC and should only be a DC (even though there are much better DC’s out there, and he’d be unlikely to be a DC on a contender).

But of course the Texans will do the most Texans things possible and succumb to fake pressure and do the opposite of what is best for the league. Guarantee if they keep him, they’ll fire him mid-season next year and then the talking heads in here will be like “ok, now the rebuild starts in 2024 because that’s when they’re getting their true next coach of the future!”

I've actually thought the play calling has been a ton better over the last few weeks. I know a lot of that is in the QB rotation they have now...but they're actually passing occasionally on first down now as if they've just become aware that the forward pass is a legal move.

With the recent report/article about the NFL letting owners know they dished out 800 million to fired coaches.

    I think we keep Lovie

Shane Steichen would be an intriguing hire. Would love the youth infusion.

If we fire lovie, does caserio say “sometimes divorce is a good thing”? Or is that too savage?

So naturally they’ll reach out to Mike Patricia.
