Wondering if we could get a sneaky acquisition like Austin Meadows from the Tigers?

Sometimes when you go buy something at the Dior store you get home and it has a crack in it. Best to check before you pay...

Maybe it’s just me but I didn’t see a whole lot of the team posting anything about goodbyes to him leaving.

What is the updated Astros salary below the tax threshold?

I'm not an immediate gratification kinda guy. But I actually listen to what people say and don't try to read things into what people say

Obviously not going to happen, but could you imagine Correa + Pena playing middle infield together? That would be ridiculous range between the two. We'll see but kinda concerned about our defense at 2B without shifts. Altuve seemed to be positioned just perfectly most of the time when the ball was hit at him, our defense will be very different without him in very shallow RF (grass).

There just aren't a lot of Astros on Twitter or regularly using it where we'd see anything. Bregman is the one on there the most and he tweeted out congratulations. The only thing Verlander has tweeted since 10/31 was a picture of him as a Met on 12/07.

The anticipated Arb and pre Arb awards would put us about $20M below the threshold of the first bracket. But they are not fixed until later. I would bet Arb awards will be higher this year.

$208,498,816 according to Spotrac. So if the estimates are PERFECT, we have $21,501,184.

I wouldn’t have minded Drury for 8.5 mil/year to replace Alemys role.

Prior to this year, he was a replacement level player or worse pretty much every year of his career. I'd much rather see what a guy like Hensley can do in that role.

Their pitching is nowhere nearly as good as Houston’s but their lineup probably is now. 8 of their everyday bats project to >108 wRC+ and their 9th projects to be an average bat (103 wRC+).

Their lineup is always injured. Ohtani trying to carry that team 90% of the season.

I seen that some sports writers where trying to make a fit for James McCann and Carlos Carrasco. And for some reason they want the Astros to take them. I was looking at something. What about James McCann, Carlos Carrasco, Brett Baty and Dominic Hamel for Phil Maton, Jake Meyers, Alex Santos and a PTBNL? This could essentially make it where we can deal from strength for something we need? Like Garcia or Urquidy for something?

He isn’t disliked, he just didn’t fit with the Astros younger players. Verlander is a very old 39 years old. He has a different mentality than almost all the Astros. Hell, his best friend on the Astros was Mancini.

Verlander always made it clear he was about Verlander, and that’s fine, all of the older HOF starter types are. Verlander put his work in though and he put up for his teammates and really is well respected by the coaches and veterans.

Also, I’ll give credit to Justin for being the only guy on the Astros to say he didn’t want Osuna on the Astros.

I wish he could have been brought back but what can we do.

There is a reason that’s all he got. There is a lot of league wide skepticism about his bat going forward.

The Astros are STILL looking at outfielders, relievers and starters.

I don’t think they are signing anyone for tens of millions of dollars but there are guys they have checked in with like McCutchen, Grossman etc and relievers as well.

    HENSLEY, David - 441 OBP, 586 SLG, 1027 OPS, 191 OPS+

    Yes, it's only 34 PA, but it's a heck of a start.

Sugar Land 420 OBP, 478 SLG, 898 OPS
    464 PA

I don't know, but I'd like to find out if he can produce more than the typical Utility guy you can get on the market.

He appears to have become a more selective batter since the Puerto Rican Winter League 21-22.
