We have come all this way with Jalen and Jabari. I’m ok with tanking the rest of the way in hopes we get Wemby. But next season heads will definitely need to start rolling.
Next season, my expectations are VERY different than this year. We don't own our own pick next year so tanking would be ridiculous. Next year needs to be about winning!
More like embrace being a loser and keep tanking forever… Getting Wemby won’t really change anything under Silas. - KNOCK KNOCK- YOU GOT NO SYSTEM, NO STRUCTURE.
All we can do is try and get as many high drafts as possible before OKC trade looms again. We can develop the picks… we can trade the picks…. We can do a combination which will most likely be the case. Right now we just have a mismatch of picks that forms our “roster”.
we're 28th in offense and 26th in defense. For our roster, that's pretty damn solid considering we don't start a single player who's even an average starter at his position. Not sure how you can criticize Silas
talent means nothing if your coach doesn’t even have a plan. Who to hold responsible for this mess? Your head coach can’t make youngsters reach their ceilings. Not even that, they keep regressing. Silas is a failed coach, simple as that.
Playing better? The very worst team 3 years in a row? Is that how this team plays better? Don’t make me laugh.
TANKING LEADS NOWHERE EVEN IF YOU DRAFT PICK NO 1 TEN YEARS IN A ROW there is no substitute for hard work and effort..there can be no shortcuts to success....
What record do you think our roster should have? We have a bottom 5 starter at most positions. Should a team without a single average starter really be better then we have been? I think we have been overachieving this year and i’m very surprised how good we have been
Tell me please who is supposed a ideal “starter”? Who do you want to play for this team? Trade everyone and get who? What’s your solution to the problem of having the worst record of all time?
There’s no solution except get lucky in the draft. That’s the only solution. We live in the real world, not fantasy land
Nah. I'm good finishing the complete tank job we started, rather than bailing out the moment we get glimpses of how good some of our young guys can be. Whatever "learning how to win" experience the kids get the rest of the season would be minimal anyway, especially with no coaching changes. We need to get whatever we can from this year's draft and what remains of EG as an asset, make some coaching staff changes, and wisely use some of our cap space this summer. THEN we can try to start moving forward next season and try to win games.
We gotta find the Durrell Murray's to find the Chandler Parsons, not overpay for the Murray's that overpay for the Parsons. - Patty Fertittay
3 Years in a row tanking. Just think how great we would be if we won the tankothon 5-10-15 years! Pure genius.
The NBA is the WWE. The draft is rigged in certain instances when it creates good storylines for the NBA. Such as Derrick Rose to his hometown Chicago. Or Olajuwon from UH to Houston and Ewing from Georgetown to the Knicks, in ancient yore. Or John Wall to DC, the closest city to his hometown of Raleigh, NC (Atlanta was the other option, but they didn't pick in the lottery that year and Charlotte didn't yet exist). Or the 1 and 4 picks going to Cleveland in the year they lose Lebron. Or most obviously, Lebron going from Akron to Cleveland. I like to think that the most blatant tanker in today's NBA landscape is Presti. OKC does some Mickey Mouse bullshit by signing a bunch of G leaguers after the All-Star break and then immediately waiving the ones who play too well. For that reason, Silver will never gift them the #1 overall pick. If I had to guess I'd say Wemby this year goes to the Spurs. They have a tradition with foreigners, and Frenchmen in particular, to the point where European fans soft-stan the Spurs. Also, unlike the Rockets, if you look at that roster right now there is absolutely nobody to get excited about with regards to potential. The league office is all about maximizing hope across the country, and right now that is the one where I'd say hope is in shortest supply.
Its really going on two years of rebuild worst record, the Harden/Westbrook trades blindsided the org. as Silas was speaking to the media about how he was going to coach that duo and barring a injury they would not have had the worst record But it still counts on Silas resume with an asterisk but it really started with the Green draft/rookie yr which complete tear downs are painful, especially coming off the 8 year run with apex Harden
