Lol at your nonchalant attitude, you have a prolonged future like you know for sure what the future holds. The future could hold a 1st round -2nd round purgatory and you wouldn't know it. Ask Tracy or Chris Paul before he got to Houston.
a real PG could help with efficiency Maxey shoots 52% from the field and 49% from 3 playing next to Harden since he arrived in Philly the game just becomes a lot easier
Not really, been saying those things for months, maybe even two years now, you have two guards that are similarly combo guards, one is better at scoring, the other better at passing, you have to pick up players that are different, don't overlap too much, balance it out. I will keep stating the same things over and over again. Need to pick up elite veterans starting now.
I’m getting a little worried about Jalen. Struggles to finish, the shot is inconsistent. It makes him a very inconsistent player. He is just 20 which is why I am a “little” worried, but feels like he isn’t as good as the guy we saw at the end of last year. Hoping I am very very wrong.
Consistency streaks. A string of very good games followed by a string of bad games. Repeat. Kind of weird. Not even a sin wave. Square wave instead of the typical saw tooth.
Every time he has a good stretch, I post here. Every time he has a bad stretch, I post here. I can’t help myself…it’s hard being a fan of such a young player. The ups and downs are getting me seasick Sooner or later Jalen will be back on top of his game, that’s the only thing I know for sure. Can it please be sooner, though?
Posted this in another thread: Jalen Green is learning bad habits. ISO, taking contested jump shots, driving into defenders for a tough layup. When the supposed “leader” and partner in crime does that consistently, you tend to follow suit. We need to have a good veteran to show him the right way to play the game. And a new coach.
Jalen needs to change his shot to whatever Lucas and him worked on during the year last season. He's a confidence player. If he's confident he plays totally different. Right now he's just not confident and missing easy layups.
Caught these 3 straight possessions in the third when we couldn't score. 1. Iso fancy dribble into a step back 3 brick. No play ran 2. Pick n Roll into a mid range jumper brick 3. Iso top of the key, nobody moves, beats the defense runs literally into 4 people. Miss I don't care who you are. These are all terrible shots, yeah every 5 games he might hit all these shots and he looks like a God. But most of the time he doesn't. As I said before, Green doesn't have the best vision or passing. Having him constantly trying to create something from isos and PnR is just asking him to be inefficient as possible
Watching the bowling video - it shows he lacks touch.. think of all the great finishing players ..a lot of them are damn good bowlers.
He hasn't been streaky for the past month - he's just been bad. 38%-19% in December on high volume - that's horrific. He's had 1 great game v. Mil and that's it, other than 1 good 12 minute stretch at PHX. Otherwise it's ranged from mediocre to putrid. Streaky would be ok if there's a balancing streak of good. Yeah sure he's young etc. But his play tonight sucked. And the night before... and before that
He’s shown flashes of good court vision and passing ability. But he’s learning bad habits. Problem is no one is pointing it out to him. Not the coach. And certainly not the “leader” of the team who is doing the same **** himself.
A rebuilding process requires an experienced coach who knows how to work with young talent and develop them, both on the court and in the locker room. Silas is light years away from that. The other huge problem is that if your franchise project is a SG, the best thing to do is have him play alongside an experienced PG or Combo Guard, who complements him appropriately. KPJ is light years away from that.
You’re completely right in that he’s been playing like ass recently. I do have confidence in Jalen’s ability to turn things around, and I don’t really have a good reason for you as to why I have that confidence. I hope that I’m proven right after a while, but we shall see
