Depending on the QB, #1 overall pick would start week 1. The Oline will be better. You notice the Texans didn't give up a sack (Driskel ran out bounds for that 1 sack). They moved Howard to LG and he basically shutdown Chris Jones. The line needs a Center and to figure out RG (if you move Howard to guard and move Green to RG).

Because he is getting pressure from the owner to get a QB.

    I get ya.
That's why I'm all in on rounding out the D with free agents and going all in on offence. TE from Georgia or ND, interior lineman, WR #1, RB for a good 1 2 punch and a capable center. In no specific order
QB is crazy this year and you can't kick the can down the road because we WILL be better next year.
Can't screw up all the 7 picks in top 100. But this is the Texans, if a bad outcome is possible it will originate from Fannin like so many before

We can't just move Howard to guard. He doesn't want to play there. He's doing it now because of injuries, but that's not a long-term solution. It also worked in this game because the Chiefs edge rushers aren't that good. If Green improves in the offseason and we pick up a better Center and guard in free agency and/or the draft, we'll actually have a pretty good OL

Still hoping for Anderson at 1.1 and then trading back from Cleveland's pick to late in Round 1 (scoring an extra second from a team targeting Levis or B. Robinson). Second first rounder would be Anthony Richardson. John Micheal Schmitz and Darnell Washington in the second. Defenders in the 3rd and then BPA/special teams and depth the rest of the way.

This is why the Texans have sucked for 2 decades and most likely will suck for another decade.

Just pick the best players. As an owner stay out of the draft process. This is what happened with the Carr.Clowney picks. The Watson pick also. The Os FA signing etc... and it appears Cal's going to go down that rabbit hole again.

Picking the best player hasn't gotten the Texans anywhere. The pick the "best" players in Mario Williams and Clowney. Sometime you pick what you desperately need.....that is a QB.

Watson was the right pick. He was the QB they needed. His off the field stuff is what led to problems.

There was no QB worth a salt in the Clowney draft. You wishing RS would've picked Bortles? Now if you want to talk Clowney vs Mack we can have that discussion.

You would've picked VY over MW. Enough said.

We see Watson very differently. I think he's a very overrated player and a terrible human being.

You are missing the point. The Texans took the "BPA" in those draft. They didn't make a big enough difference in the franchise. It is time to take the QB they need to take that is rated for the top 3. Carr doesn't count because of circumstances of the franchise.

I'm not the one missing the point.

Under your line of thinking Bortles should have been the pick over Clownery

#1- Bortles was never rated as a top 5 pick. Barely a top 15. Jags reached. Bryce Young is rated as top 3-5 pick.

Bottles college tape was really bad. He was picked purely because he had some resemblance to a Josh Allen before Josh Allen existed. Didn’t have near the arm talent though and never could mentally process at at high lvl either.

    Not true

In fact after the combine there was talk of Bortles going 1-1.

You're trying to re-write history to fit your narrative.

    1. Bryce Young
    QB, Alabama

The Texans need to find a quarterback of the future and the best option is none other than Alabama’s Bryce Young. While Young is undersized, he possesses rare accuracy, instincts, and playmaking ability that should all translate very well to the next level. Furthermore, Young is a proven winner and his intangibles are top-notch, which I think aligns really well with what Houston is currently building.

    13. Quentin Johnston
    WR, TCU

The Texans added their QB earlier this draft and now they give him a new toy. Quentin Johnston is a height-weight-speed receiver who flashes impressive hands and body control down the field. He gives the Texans a big-play threat they desperately need.

The only reason was people knew the Texans needed a QB. Texans never had him that high.
