I mean, look at this image: The lines don't even go straight through the middle of the gaps in the crossword. Whoever drew this had to curve the lines to make the swastika appear. Not doubting the sincerity of anyone who saw a swastika, but it's something that could be missed by a person who isn't being attentive to it.
When the neo-nazis are on your side…. You’ve chosen the wrong side. Now back to your faux outrage over a crossword.
I did zero analysis on the actual picture. Gut reaction. Now that I think through it - my assumptions are based on 1- it's the NYT, they aren't crazy, 2- a default in my head is that people aren't crazy until shown otherwise, 3- people see patterns and assume things of the pattern (this is generally a good thing but can get you in trouble), and 4- #3 should be balanced by #1 and #2. With that, I'm 98% confident in my assumption until proven otherwise.
This. But I can imagine how differently this thread would have gone if it was the fox news crossword.
When you resort to name calling instead of presenting any reasonable point you've already lost. Sorry if it hurts your feelings that I can see through your faux outrage. I would look forward to you denouncing the Neo-nazi's and white supremists who support Trump and Desantis but I know it won't be coming.
Seems like he was going for symmetry. He got some, alright. I would say this is probably a horrible coincidence. You could convince me rkherwise, with proper evidence, though.
You are a prime example of how entrenched partisanship and seeing everyone who is not on your side as "the enemy" and a Nazi sympathizer has poisoned politics in this country. Just because I stated I like DeSantis, you are making these insane accusations that I would stand side by side with crazy Nazis. Guess what, I'm sure that there are Rockets fans who are Nazis - that doesn't make you or me a Nazi, and that doesn't mean Stone or Fertitta have to go around denouncing every idiot under the sun who tries to associate himself with them. Same goes for DeSantis. You need to learn to accept that people may view things differently from you, without demonizing them. And as to "faux outrage", I posted something that looks super weird, to see what others think. If you look at the responses to that tweet, there are many, many people, including many from the left, who say this cannot be a coincidence. Maybe it is one, but at the very least, they should have editors who spot something like that. As to "name calling", you were the one who came in here with completely unnecessary hostility.
This tweeter, like almost all the ones who commented, is quite far left. This is not a "right vs. left" thing, which is what people like @VooDooPope are trying to make it. When you look at the responses to that tweet and click on the bios of the people upset about it, almost all of them who are upset have BLM or some other "left" stuff on their bio. It's stupid to defend everything someone from "your camp" does and immediately go into an "attacking the messenger" mode. Shame on you.
I would have asked the same question if it had been the New York Post. Here are more examples of apparently left-leaning folks questioning this. And a fairly simple question:
My god guy. Get a ****ing life or at least get laid because you spend too much ****ing time on here trying to stir **** up. How can you be productive at life when it seems you spend every waking hour thinking of ways to get a rise out of people on this website, your life must suck balls.
