KPJ: Can someone explain to me why he has become Clutchfans favorite whipping boy?

I could still accept KPJ as a 20-25 mpg 6th man who just focuses on scoring…if he’s playing like trash, u yank him, and if he’s having the rare efficient scoring night, he might give the team a spark

How do u shoot the 8th highest percentage from the line amongst the rotation players, but u have priority when it comes to technical free throws?

How do u shoot 25% from the field and 17% from 3 in the clutch, but u still take slightly more shots than Jalen Green who is shooting 48%?

How were u acquired for a measly top 55 protected pick, but u are introduced last during player intros, something that is usually reserved for the star or the face of the franchise? We weren’t introducing Capela last when Harden was here.

Why is he getting gassed up like this? I don’t understand it

 

Yes, skills-wise, this would make sense, but it seems quite clear that he would cause problems.

if he’s only playing 25 minutes…if he’s often not playing the last 6 or 7 minutes of the 4th unless he’s hot offensively…I don’t see him accepting that with a smile and taking it in stride

 

What's utterly bizarre is his anti-KPJ obsession. Is that why he has that dumb bag over his head? The other night, when we destroyed the Suns, the only thing he tweeted was a RT of someone complaining about KPJ taking a FT shot over Green. He, in my ways, encapulates my complaints about KPJ critics -- their hatred blinds them.

hope the Rockets will spend even 10% of the effort they do to develop mediocre KPJ into developing Tyty…if for nothing else than just seeing if he can be an adequate backup PG

Let's see what we have in TyTy. Run TyTy Green and KPJ out there so we have some much needed data on KPJ at the 3. This is the year to experiment.

 

Who's the vet PG you would trade for? And since you want to improve the team, why didn't you add Sengun to the bench?

 

Rockets hardly have anything at the PG position right now

I would like to develop our rookie Tyty to see what he’s got…I already know what KPJ has to offer at that position, and it’s sh*t, but we are stuck with that for now

 

Unfortunately that indicates upcoming loss years of Rockets…insane how the management allows a mediocre player leading a massive failure. Rockets can’t be a contender with KPJ.

KPJ will play the same, no matter what his position on paper is meant to be. His stats in 20/21 when he played more SG/SF are basically the same as when he played PG.

 

Oh as do I, but something tells me this Org would immediately try out KPJ at SF if we were to hand another PG the keys. I view KPJ as a 6th man.

 

I don't think we have a PG issue, I think it's a narrative that's being pushed and people are hoping on the train because the team is young and losing. And someone has to be the reason behind it! Thus, the KPJ is NOT a PG NARRATIVE.

However, I would like to see TYTY at PG to see if there's a big difference and if his weaknesses present themselves, then people will begin bashing him.

What people fail to realize is that every, I MEAN EVERY, player has a weakness.

 

Mike Conley…a placeholder who won’t cost much to acquire and has just 1 year left on his deal…he would run a team much better than KPJ…he would at least make us look somewhat organized, plus he could actually teach Tyty some things
