Also if KPj had shown the flashes that Sengun and Green showed at times, even with all the weaknesses, the KPJ crowd would be talking about superstar potential(by that I mean how he will be one, not potentially one) like they did at the end of last season. 'If you look at the last 7 games ...'

You gotta understand, it's all about pushing narratives to them, not intelligent or valid basketball analysis.

That's why there's really no point in engaging with them.... they aren't the best or brightest AND they aren't operating in good faith.

There are a some big differences in those three guys situations though. Green and Smith were top of the draft guys, no matter how fair or unfair you might find it the fact remains that those types of guys garner a lot more leeway than a player whose introduction into the league went the route of KPJ.

There’s also the age factor. No matter how much some want to minimize KPJs time in the league.

Lastly there’s the fact that only 1 of these guys has had an extension agreed upon, while the other two are very early on into their rookie scale deals.

There was a HUGE debate/discussion this off season on what that extension should look like and when it should occur. The “wait and see” side was pointing to indicators that would suggest he would likely continue to struggle with all the things he’s continued to struggle with this season. The “he deserves 20+ million and would be a bargain” side focused on guaranteed improvement based on a super small sample to end the season. That debate has spilled over into the season as evidence has started to come in as to whose side of that debate was more accurate.

There was no off-season debate discussion for the other two. So there was no continuation of a debate to be had on those two. The hope would be that by the time Green and Smith are up for post rookie contract extensions there is no debate and they have proven they are worth the max available.

How is that Doc Rivers and others see improvement in KPJ but you don't?

If Jalen Green stays at the same efficiency in two years with the same assist to turnover ratio, he will be the new whipping boy.

The heavy KPJ stans need to understand this simple concepts here.

Anyways the Heat game shows exactly what KPJ excels at(dynamic scorer) and what he sucks at(setting up teammates).

LMFAO. Are you for real? Doc Rivers and the 76ers should go for him then. Let's see what they'll offer for KPJ.

As he should be. If Jalen has the same TS through his first 3 years and 1/4th into his 4th season I'll be ready to move on. Volume scorers on sub league average efficiency are not valuable players.

I think that shows your level of BASKETBALL KNOWLEDGE, Doc Rivers coach the 76ers.

Of course they are not real. How can you have more than 1 poster who has this combination of lack of understanding of basic statistics, basketball, mathematics, reading comprehension and logic.

Whatever. Why the 76ers are not going for him? Since he's such a god and he has no trade value whatsoever.

114 games due to KPJ proactively screwing himself over by being the knucklehead he was, while simultaneously failing to learn a damn thing from his betters while on the bench and during offseason you mean? Also, it's conveniently not mentioned that JG has shown way more improvement in his 95 games than KPJ has in his 4 years of observing, practicing, and playing with actual NBA players. Yes, carry on!

    Agreed.

Although I feel the jury is still out on what level of scorer he is capable of. 2nd/3rd option as a starter? 3rd/4th/5th option as a 6th man? Last night was a rare efficient night for him. He has been remarkably consistent with his low efficiency this season. It would be really nice if we could see how his efficiency looks over a large sample playing primarily off ball, because on ball it hasn’t gone well.

What improvement has JG shown more of in 95 games compared to KPJ?

edit: Sheesh just looked at the stats! Talk about putting the horse before the cart just for a hot take!
