Personally, I don’t see any reason to care about his live location, and Musk making a big deal about it likely attracted way more attention to it than it would have otherwise received. I am sympathetic to concerns he might have regarding his family’s safety, and that those concerns may have increased in recent weeks.

    Rich people problems.

Also, what does Aaron Rupar do as a journalist other than sit in front of his computer and tweet out video clips all day? Maybe he should be more careful.

Serous journalists should know it's Musk's house and there is no rule other than how he's feeling tomorrow. Good luck with that. If you are going to be "careful" about that, you might as well pack up and go home.

I seem to recall the Rockets plane location being discussed before in the GARM. Can't any plane with a tail number be tracked via websites online???

This seems so petty and so like what I would expect from a few on this subforum.

99% of the population is either too stupid or too lazy to get this information and spamming it directly to the masses will only lead to the information eventually being censored by law

Musk suspends journalists from Twitter, claims ‘assassination’ danger
Company executives alleged that the more than half a dozen reporters endangered Twitter’s owner by sharing his location. But a review of their tweets shows no evidence of it.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/media/2022/12/15/twitter-journalists-suspended-musk/

    excerpt:

“It’s impossible to square Twitter’s free speech aspirations with the purging of critical journalists’ accounts,” American Civil Liberties Union executive director Anthony D. Romero said in a statement. “The First Amendment protects Musk’s right to do this, but it’s a terrible decision. Their accounts should be restored immediately.”

What? There's literally a free apps with tens of millions of downloads that tracks flights. You underestimate the amount of people who track flights.

Honestly, the article seems evasive or poorly researched. It should include the actual new “doxxing” rules that were added, along with the tweet Musk sent out saying why they were suspended. One can put 2 and 2 together from that.

They tweet out “news” about Sweeney’s Twitter account being suspended, including a link to where his flight tracker can be found on other platforms. Whether one agrees with making that a violation or not, that would be the reason.

I guess you can’t have spaces any more if it’s going to include discussions on things that one can’t tweet out. Maybe Twitter is going to work on an AI that monitors real-time conversations and censors people who speak things that are verboten.
