Climate change is real, we need a solution.

But I would rather watch butter slowly melt for two hours than a film about three liberal activists and AOC. Boring and annoying as ****.

I can’t remember the last time I watched a feature length documentary in a theater. Might have been Winged Migration.

Documentaries don't tend to draw much of a crowd. I am not surprised. Will probably have a bit more success online.

Overwhelmingly most people care about the effects pollution has on our environment.

Humans can not control the climate but we can alter our waste outputs.

This is a political opinion, not scientific. The evidence is so overwhelming that humans are behind the current rapid climate change.

It is not an opinion. Humans can not control the climate.

We all agree polluting has drastic effects on the environment, but we can not control it.

matter of fact, if not for this thread, I still wouldn’t know

Was the advertisement for this film only on the bottom of Whataburger receipts?

That is an opinion. Science has already concluded that humans indeed have already changed the climate.

grammatical point. you said "control the climate." What you are now talking about is influencing the climate or affecting the climate. The point that "humans cannot control the climate" is trivially true; because if we could control the climate we surely would have done so by now and there would be no climate crisis. Then all we would have left to talk about is Trump's new NFT trading cards.

These are semantics. Control vs influence?

We can debate at what point influence becomes control, but humans right now are the primary driver behind the increase level of CO2 and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere these past 100 years. Can we bring down CO2 levels as well? That we're not so sure off but probably. We don't know if we've entered into a positive feedback loop or not, and if we haven't, cutting CO2 emissions and finding technology to create Carbon sinks could prevent that from ever happening. The science may not be precise, but it is accurate.

It's funny conservatives are trying to make this a thing. Indie movies get limited releases where no one watches all the time. They do this to be award eligible. They hope to win a few awards to boost sales later. This usually happens at year end to be fresh in voter minds.

The fact that no one went to see this had nothing to do with climate change or AOC.

    https://www.awardsdaily.com/2022/05...ck-theatrical-qualifications-for-95th-oscars/

"After two cycles shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Academy is now returning to its traditional calendar year eligibility period and requirement of a theatrical release. A feature film must have a qualifying theatrical release date between Jan. 1, 2022 and Dec 31, 2022."

I've seen two within the last few years. If the subject is compelling I'll go. Won't you be my neighbor? and They Shall Not Grow Old were the ones I saw in theaters.

I can't stand her voice for more than 5 mins, so count me out as a ticket buyer.

Not sure why anyone would pay for this when streaming services pad their content libraries with dime a documentaries like these.
