Glad to get the win. It's challenging to read through the fan feedback. The Suns played hard, had a rough shooting night, and the Rockets found a way to lead and win coast-to-coast, never trailing. This is a positive development. The Suns are a well-run NBA franchise that stumbled out of the gate. They shot less than 30 percent on their seventy-seven uncontested shots (and yes, our D is terrible enough that we would give a team that many uncontested looks at the basket). Our coaches should try to get these young guys to look at film and strive for improvement. I'm encouraged that the Suns could not just get off the bus and wipe us out. In the last two years, almost anyone wearing a Suns jersey would look like an all-pro against our defense and effort. I was happy to see another game where we got 20 points on the break. That's with KPJ constantly walking the ball up. Many of us would get off his case if he sought to play faster and increase our tempo. Does he think the refs would call a foul if he pushed the ball after a made basket? That's not illegal; it's opportunistic, the sort of thing elite point guards can do (PGs not named Harden or Chris Paul). Weirdly, Sengun seems to be the only one willing to create tempo. KPJ's goal should be to create three to five more solid transition opportunities. That extra effort is going to get Jabari his needed shot attempts. In the half-court, he's easy to cover and forget about. We have yet to unlock pushing the ball ahead and finding Jabari as a trailer. As much as we might joke about tanking, it's a draft lottery. Yes, whoever is fortunate enough to nab Wemby or Scoot is set up for the next decade (barring injuries); we're only a little over 1/3 of the way into this season. I don't think we should shut everything down like the Pistons appear to be doing. Being professionals day-in-and-day-out, learning how we want to close out games and play together on both ends of the floor has to be our top priority.
I enjoyed the game. The issue here is that ass kissers that think that on a basketball forum where you talk basketball that you cant make a critique about players or coaches. EVERY FAN BASE DOES THIS. Check the other forums if ya have to. We arent cheerleaders we are going to talk about every aspect of the game good and bad. If you cant handle it maybe youre the one with the problem BTW this fanbase has always been like this. **** it was worse during the Harden years when we were actual contenders. Are you new?
Like most things on Clutchfans (or really in our society in general, let's be honest), it's that everything is too polarized. There's no gray area anymore. I've commented on this a lot in the KPJ vs. Sengun conversations, during the Mobley vs. Green arguments, etc. In this case, you should absolutely be able to critique the team you root for, and you should be able to enjoy a win and congratulate the team on a well-played game. The issue I have is when posters come into a game thread after a big win and their sole comments are "KPJ took way too many shots tonight," "Why isn't Jabari getting too many looks?," "Sengun had too many turnovers," etc. It just comes off as such a sour, sad way to talk about the team's performance, which was overall damn good. Take the KPJ criticism from last night—was the guy perfect? Definitely not. He turned the ball over too much and wasn't especially efficient with his shots. But he had a few nice moments throughout, he played pretty good defense and you could literally criticize KPJ for being inefficient and turning the ball too much after basically every game. That's just who that dude is, and his performance last night was no more egregious than any other night. If someone wants to hate on KPJ, there's tons of threads to do it, but if I was going to do it in a game thread, I'd probably save it for a game where he goes 2-12 with six turnovers and has three bonehead mistakes in the fourth that cost them the game, you know?
There is a difference between hating KPJ and acknowledging we are putting a square peg through a round hole even though square peg is very talented. When people discuss KPJ they are never in the mindset of a single game. They are speaking in terms of the future and what he should be.
People can comment on whatever the hell they like about the team, you dont get to control that its an opinion forum. Frankly the whining about about people daring to have opinions is starting to get on my nerves. It usually comes from fan boys who cant stand legitimate criticisms of their favorite player or coach. You cant stop people from making observations about a team when thats literally the point of the forum. Get off your high horse.
The last paragraph explains the issue with people like you. Youre equating hate and criticism as the same thing. Also maybe people are tired of seeing KPJ be inefficient "basically every game". Now you sound like a "hater" lol
People generally accept that KPJ is a talented player but not famous for his vision. His strengths are bringing the ball and catch and shoot. He can be a great wing player or a wonderful 6th man, can be employed in 3 different positions. He will be darling of Rockets fans if he comes from the bench. People also realising that putting KPJ's improvement before Rockets team improvement is a big mistake. There are roles to be fulfilled in this team: JGreen to score, Jabari&Sengun to rebound, Sengun to assist, Tari to hustle, KJM to cut, KPJ to pass,.. If you don't force KPJ to pass, Alpi to assist, Tari to learn lay-ups, Nix to speed up,... you go nowhere. To have a favourite player(s) is very healthy but you have to accept their shortcomings. Don't like Alpi is not assisting enough, Josh is not playing wisely, Eason can't finish smoothly (he is doing better recently), Jabari's fg % is not good as expected. All should improve. Simiarly KPJ is not a PG and his talents should be used more efficiently. He can't beat JGreen+Alpi+Jabari+Tari singlehandedly. Either he will learn his role or will be an outcast. It is that simple.
... echoed for truth. the single agenda posters can't see the forest (win) 'cause they have to keep beating their dead horse agenda. way past tiresome ...
Every FKING game its a "KPJ did this .. KPJ did that .. KPJ should do this .. KPJ should do that" where is that energy for the other guys who fk up? BS ass "we can talk about whatever we want" and then just focus on one guy. GTFOH.
My agenda is loving the Rockets and wanting the rebuild to go corectly and then coming on my faorite fan forum to voice those opinions and vent certain things. Pretty sure around the NBA thats the agenda of most people.
This isnt even true. I guarantee you would say the exact same thing about SIlas or NIx lmao. You people just make **** up.
Who else are you focusing your ire at on this team? I'll give you the chance to answer before I pull the receipts from your post history. Perfectly fine that you hate the guy, but after a solid team win you should pipe down and allow the guys who have been fighting an uphill battle of support to enjoy the moment since they are so few and far between. Who gives a flying fk about Silas or Nix? You are creating strawmen and circular arguments just so you can enjoy your KPJ bashing and then slink away as if its cool and nobody should call you out. Be real.
Well I mean you can keep crying but no one is gonna stop making observations about KPJ, SIlas or Nix. I might log on and do it much more now that I know it bothers you so much. No one is stopping me from sharing my opining on a dam opinion forum lol When they chang ehis positon or he stops playing selfishly I'll stop. My goal was to support Jabari. The fact that you see it as hate is irrelevant.
Rockets fans: go get Wembayama so we can beat playoff contenders !! Rockets players: We got what we need right here!!
