Yeah this leaves out that the FBI”s former lawyer went to work for Twitter after leaving the bureau. But that’s a nothingburger because Jim Baker was himself a human nothingburger both at the FBI and again at Twitter. So nothing to see here, back to your lives citizens

which when you think about it is nothing at all like Congressmen who retire and go to work for Exxon making $3 million a year as part-time consultants

The FBI has a singular lawyer? Damn that's a large burden.

Congresspeople get hired by the private sector for their connections into government. Exxon hires an ex-congressman so the ex-congressman can influence his friends that are still in Congress.

Are you suggesting Twitter hired a former FBI lawyer so they could have future influence in the FBI?

So it would be the reverse situation where the corporation is the "power" and taking advantage of the state government.

A key issue is that anytime anyone's programmed belief gets challenged, it gets labeled as a conspiracy theory.

These algorithms can present all ideas/theories and give the points/counterpoints.

No need to suppress ideas and try to rewrite history. Give the data.

"Programed beliefs". Are like leftists and liberals attached at the GOP with the Wuhan lab where they are suppressing some magical truth to power?

**** no. This is simply a case of a bunch of right wing **** heads making matter of fact statements well before any confirmation and then going beyond that and saying stuff like it was an INTENTIONAL action to create an intentional pandemic. When you make these grand accusations in matter of fact terms as if they are confirmed, then yes it's a conspiracy theory at this point.

What's also funny is how these lines formed for Covid conspiracies in terms of who was spreading them and who was waiting for more information.

The lines were drawn purely from a right wing motivation to shelter president trump and find a scapegoat for the pandemic. That's literally it and now we have people with such hard line stances on things like masks and vaccines. It's absurdly funny.

I'm semi-grunching this thread, so apologies again. Anyhow, isn't that the point of modern 1st amendment doctrine though? It's been this way for the last 50 or so years. Moderators publish and publishers moderate (like the NYT comments section), and both get the same constitutional protections. If we change that, then that's cool too, but then we're probably going back to the fairness doctrine for all other media...and probably should force Fox News and CNN to give stories with an alternative bias.

Musk did what modern doctrine allows - if you don't like how Twitter is operated, then buy it. Now it's your Twitter and you can slant it any way you want, or have a free-for-all. I don't see how Twitter moderation decisions are any worse than Fox's or CNN's. Not saying it's good, just saying it's Constitutional.

Ya I really want to hear OS here if he will apply logical consistency.

So the FBI interfered with the 2016 election in favor of the GOP using the right wing narrative logic today.

    That's not how it works.

The right winning the public narrative about speech and corruption gets you a Balsanaro situation.

Every right wing fascist of the past has used "the opposition is corrupt" angle to convince the masses.
