    Some of the hardest laborers I know committed petty theft before.

    How hard do you work again?

    Also none of your statements even make sense from a motive standpoint. Why would liberal politicians want more crime?

    I think we can't have a sincere discussion on this issue until the right stops believing that people want more crime rather than believing there are different long term solutions to it.

    Say it ain't so. White conservatives don't steal. They don't collect welfare, food stamps, Section 8, Medicaid, nothing. They pull themselves up by their bootstraps.
    They don't have the highest rate of opioid and meth overdoses either.

    Who said or even implied this lol? Skin color has no bearing on simply making the right decisions...there is good and evil in every color and as I said everyone makes mistakes however some minimize mistakes and that is a choice

    Proposition 47 is in California
    I’ve mentioned this a few times but woke people don’t get this part

    criminals don’t care who you voted for
    They only know the basic theft questions

    1. will anyone stop me from stealing and robbing ?
    2. If I get caught how fast can I get out of jail?

    The ceo of Walmart is the ceo of Walmart not whatever store you want it to be for your fake analogy

    criminals are taking advantage big time

    you know why people don’t rob target or Walmarts in Saudi Arabia?
    Cause they would chop your hand off or something like that

    @Os Trigonum
    @AroundTheWorld

    you think anyone is going to smuggle vape cartridges into Russia ??

    Meth heads steal as much as anyone. They’re just usually in bullshit towns instead of city centers.

    Go live in San Leon for a few years like I did. If that **** was happening in the wealthy parts of Houston the military would be called in.

    We all know what people mean when they say “liberal judges”.

    My point was, as someone who works in the business, is that this **** happens just as much in Huntsville as it happens in Galveston.

    Walmart can raise prices if they want. That's their right as a business. If they need to make up an excuse to do it, that's their right too.

    As for shoplifting in businesses. Businesses need to work with local gov't to address these concerns. If there is a lack of police officers or budget to deal with problem, then businesses can work to address these issues. Maybe they need to pay higher property tax to curve the problem. Maybe they don't want to. These issues are rarely as simple as they are being portrayed in the media.

    There are Wal-Marts with local police on hand. The clear answer is the businesses pay for the security they need.

    I know most corporations train their security guards to not really do anything, but boy does that feel ridiculous. Like yall have cameras in the store. You'll accomplish more snatching the mask off than recording him with your phone.

    If people are willing to go to prison for a year to steal a bunch of stuff that has a street value less than $500, they are a lot braver than me.

    They can do other things like raise bail and make things more problematic for shoplifters. But again, that takes money and it's not clear communities want to pay more property / local taxes in the current environment we are in.

    The scream for smaller gov't can't successfully coexist with the scream for more police and jails.

    Expect shoplifting to steadily increase based on the past 50 years of economic trends.

    And during that increase there will be a vicious cycle of wanting more cops, harsher penalties with short term drops in crime that get back up because the underlying problem isn't addressed which eventually leads us to a society where suburban gated neighborhoods have automated turrets around the perimeter. That's the society we are eventually going to stumble into.

    this... wealth inequality will continue to grow and petty crime will continue to grow.

    why does tinman care so much if walmart, a company that treats their employees like crap and relies on tax payers to maximize profits, raises prices in those liberal areas of lawlessness?
    let them. hell let the store close.
