I don't mind Walmart closing stores... or just going out of business. Should pay their employee better so they don't have to rely on government assistance. Isn't that kind of legalized theft by certain big corp?

ORC (organized retail crime) is the #1 loss (theft) to retailers. It's a growing multi-B$ crime.

There are a few congressional proposals to combat ORC.

NRF | Thank You, Retail Crime Fighters
    • INFORM Consumers Act (S.936 /H.R. 5502):
      • Requires online marketplaces to verify the identity of high-volume third-party sellers to help curb the sale of counterfeit goods and stolen merchandise.
    • Combatting Organized Retail Crime Act (S. 5046/H.R. 9177):
      • Establishes a new Organized Retail Crime Coordination Center that will help federal, state and local law enforcement agencies better coordinate to effectively combat criminal activities.

I’ve worked with a few Walmarts on some security measures. The stores in small conservative towns around texas still have a **** ton of organized retail crime. It’s not just the big cities.

I’m pretty sure non contributors have contributed to Walmart’s bakery profit margins

We all make mistakes but at the end of the day non contributors make way more mistakes and become losers..Losers that quit as they fail and make bad decisions…the difference is winners fail until they succeed

I’m a winner. I work. I’m not a victim. I don’t commit crime. Did I say I work? I worked thru college with minimal help from parents..I am a contributing member, I created a successful business I own. I inherited nothing. I am just as much hispanic as white (my children are more hispanic due to my wife) so don’t give me any white privilege BS. I live in a house valued at now $700k. Only my second house …no one gave me sh it . My business is thriving and expanding even during tough times in spite of this thru what? Hard work and making correct choices in how I conduct business

My children…one is more liberal than my beliefs but inspires me by being a winner and making correct decisions in life. She also worked thru school …my other daughter is mini roxran , she has same beliefs, went to trade school and is now co owner of my business and likely will inherit the company when I’m gone. Both different in ideology but the same approach to being winners in life so don’t think you have to have one set of politics to be a winner in life. It comes down to making choices and building on those choices .

I could have been a loser by choices in life ….the retail theft is done by losers. And yes it’s that simple

Honestly . . . I think we need to look at the main elephant in the room .

    SELF SERVICE CHECK OUT
Is there any real surprise that people are not scanning everything

This is all because CHEAP @SS WALMART DON'T WANT TO PAY PEOPLE
They don't want to pay a living wage . . . if they HAVE to . ..then they want to cut the number of employees.
Then want to cry foul when their inventory is walking out the door because the Elderly man with the oxygen tank and
thick glasses is not catching every criminal

    This is 100% on Walmart.
They got rid of THE PEOPLE . . . . and for some strange reason trusted PEOPLE to simply do right at the Service line
80% will . . .. but that other 20% will steal the line itself if they could

A lot of what you say is spot on - companies need to do the right thing with people as well - accountability should be shared

It's one thing that social economic conditions are causing people to turn to petty crime. But from what we are reading, there are literal organized crime groups orchestrating these types of crime.

I don't know what the answer is, but I know the two things above are not the same things.

The crime rings in California know California prop 47 allows them to steal $950 per store and have used that to hire homeless people , drug users to steal in mass for them. They get enough of the cut for drugs and the high level ring resales these goods

But the dumb politicians and activists think this law is good cause it helps desperate poor people steal necessities
But they really cosmetics and fashion items

Biden's IRS agents need to look into this for tax evasion instead of CashApp and Venmo crackdowns on the war against moms with craft businesses or various small businesses,...

especially when retail theft becomes an organized criminal business venture

Cities that have the shoplifting problems purposely do not stop the criminals

this is not some complex CIA operation to invade a foreign country

It’s a bunch of addicts robbing CVS

How much do you work again? Is it a lot? Do you work hard? I didn't catch that the first time. How hard do you work?

Yes it's about making it easier on criminals which are in essence simply non contributing losers ... It would be funny to some I suppose to make it easier for non criminals and make a parody of themselves talking about wealth distribution fairness or something rather illogical but then we all know who they are without checking user names ;)
