I been seeing alot of arguments about this.
The artistic community is crying foul.

I have seen some of the stuff and it is great.
    I don't see the issue

If you like it, it’s art.

An ant pile can be art.

A gnarled tree can be art.

A garbage dump can be art.

An old woman’s forehead can be art.

as an art appreciator, all that should matter is whether or not you like it or does it evoke something in you. how its created shouldnt matter...but i kind of get the idea that people wouldnt be into having something made by a computer. much great art comes out of pain and human experience and computers dont have feelings. how can they convey the human emotion like a human?

people made this argument with computer-based music when that came out and now its just accepted as guitar music...and maybe more popular with young people.

i was thinking of AI art being more like music made with sample libraries on computers. these days all you need is garage band. you dont even need to know how to actually play anything. people make songs with samples and loops that they didnt create. they didnt actually play the instruments or create the riff/hook/melody. its all samples that they drag-and-drop into a sequencing program. its kind of cheating imo and as a listener i dont think its as interesting or impressive as humans making it. i dont see it as the same level as real people actually creating and playing, but in the end all that really matters is if you like it.

"im a producer" says some 20 year old who "makes beats" by just looping samples someone else made.

I understand your premise but the art in sampling is being able to blend or create different music or songs from the beats themselves, it's a lot more than what MC Hammer did on can't touch this.

It's more akin to quilting or mosaics, its fitting the pieces together to make something different and maybe even better.

You got to dig in the crates.

Human assisted AI will be a thing in all industries.

So much obsolescence. So much bloat.

Nah, let's keep living the dream utopia scenario where everyone will have so much free time from machines and will become hippies/fartisans/free thinkers with thousand dollar checks cut by the gov to buy drugs or sham ponzies with.
