    What a teaser.

“The vast majority of Meadows’ texts described in this series are being made public for the very first time. They show the senior-most official in the Trump White House communicating with members of Congress, state-level politicians, and far-right activists as they work feverishly to overturn Trump’s loss in the 2020 election. The Meadows texts illustrate in moment-to-moment detail an authoritarian effort to undermine the will of the people and upend the American democratic system as we know it.”

The key is to scream it LOUD (and repeatedly) to drown out the facts.

Edit: On a serious note, some of these texts from Meadows and cohorts border on treason.

Strange that all of those Mark Meadows texts were found on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Not surprised. Don't think its the last time it will happen if another GOP candidate is elected to the office of president again.

Party over Country for the GOP.

Aside from the salacious pictures that emerged from the laptop, the big story there was that the Biden family might have been enriching itself with shady overseas business deals. OK, that's worthy of investigation. Why aren't all the "moderates" up in arms about that similarly up in arms over comparable stories that have come out regarding Trump and his family? Oh, but Biden lied about his involvement. OK, also not good if true. But, again, double standard?

Anyway, this thread isn't about that.

Influence peddling family ties is so common in Washington that both sides doesn't want to pass any laws changing a system rife with white collar grift,

Biden's case is exceptional in the sense he kept his pledge not to inside trade as a senator through owning stocks, which severely limited his means for exploiting his name and position. Clintons were nearly bankrupt after Bubba retired, which made them heavily trade in their name. So generating wealth is not only seen as "keeping up" with their status and position, but also a defensive measure. Quite different from winning as a peanut farmer, then retiring back to it...

If folks are dead set against this, they should demand greater accountability with reform oriented candidates rather than hyperfocusing on the executive or even justices for life, where it's harder and even murkier to take down,

Agreed. I clicked the link and looked for texts but all I could find was emotionally charged histrionics (and self-congratulations). I'm not even saying they're wrong, but I'm looking for something different from journalism.
