You use the top player on the player that will best impact your team. That is a QB. Will Anderson is not going to change your team overnight. The QB will….

Can you imagine a defense with a DL of Hughes,M. Collins,Carter, Tyree Wilson to do with the current DB's. All you would have to do is find an above avg LB in FA to pair with Harris and the defense would look alot better.

Use the rest of the picks on offense.

Yep, they will win 5-7 games lets throw a party.

There's not a difference making QB out there. IMHO

You do understand the turnover on this team will be the most we have seen in one year ever for the Texans? Cap + Draft will equal a large influx of talent.

This comes from the man who says we are in a rebuilding stage. Are you saying unless we pick the #1 quarterback in the draft we will never be great? Even without great coaches, wide receivers, a great offensive line, and a great defense? Are you saying if we don't pick a quarterback as our first pick we are doomed?

Our rushing yards are 1169 compared to 2156 yards by our opponents. Pierce has 4 touchdowns and 4 fumbles. Our offensive line needs a lot more talent and our coaching isn't great. Our quarterbacks aren't great. Our play calling isn't great. Our receivers can't get wide open enough down the middle of the field without our quarterbacks being gang tackled. Our offense and defense are ranked near the bottom of the league.

Sure, Brady was a 6th round pick. He wasn't the only late round pick to flourish, even if he was the one to do it the longest. Bart Starr was a 17th round pick. Roger Staubach was a 10th round pick. Mark Rypien was a 6th round pick. Joe Theismann was a 4th round pick. Dak Prescott and Mark Brunell were 4th round picks. Russell Wilson was a 3rd round pick. Drew Brees and Brett Favre were 2nd round picks.

Do you think those guys would have flourished, or won SuperBowls with our defense, offensive line, receivers and coaches? I sure don't. Any player we choose is a gamble this year, but I am not all in for picking a little quarterback like Bryce Young #1 in this big man's league if a defensive stud is available, especially with our coaches and offensive line. We need to rebuild everywhere, and that includes our defense.

Not trying to nitpick here but there's no way this team wins 5-7 games next year. Not unless it's a total regime change, we get a good QB and spend/draft to upgrade our defense.

Still don't see it happening. I'd be happy with 4 wins next year.

i too would be ok with 4 wins next year if it guaranteed us the overall #1 in the draft following. For many that is where our future QB is??
Cant afford to be good enough to get the 3rd pick overall.

Will Anderson is not going to change this team. The right QB will. The Texans are going to spend in the offseason. The odds of them being in position to draft #1 overall again will be alot lower. Hell, Williams may get injured (he has a serious hamstring injury now). Bryce Young will be the pick.

I view Anderson completely differently then you do…this isn’t a typical Clowney or whatever…Anderson is a complete franchise cornerstone player who I view can change the culture and identity of a team..he has a will and want that is unmatched and has that “dawg” in him.

He can come in day 1 and change this defense from the bottom right into the top with Harris pitre and sting imo ( with that right coaching of course )

I get it.. Some of us are enthusiasts and some of us are clearly lacking reality.. I'm somewhere in the middle.. lol .. I don't understand the Bryce Young hate. Dude is a leader and makes plays... I'd take that as a start 100% .. He's no Mahomes, but dammit Mahomes wouldn't be Mahomes without Andy Reid and a competent talent scouting department..

It would be good if the teams picking directly under the Texans, like second, third, etc., also need a QB. Forcing anyone below those teams looking for one to try to move up to number one for a QB. If Seattle doesn’t need one, who’s next currently? Indianapolis? Would the Bears look for another QB already?

Would’ve been great if Carolina kept losing. I believe they have two first round picks.

Dude, are you really cherry-picking those QBs? Do you understand how RARE it is to find an Above Average QB outside the 1st and 2nd rounds? Roger Stauback was a 10th round pick because of his Navy Service. He would have been a #1 pick (Heisman). The only reason Drew Brees was a 2nd rounder..was his size. Same with Russell Wilson in the 3rd. Both have 1st round talent. Mark Rypien was an AVERAGE QB at best ( Super Bowls on a GREAT teams), Doug Williams won that 88 SuperBowl while Rypien was on the IR. Dak hasn't won ****, Neither did Brunell (good career, not elite). Brett Favre was raw until he got the right coach. I am not gambling on a QB in the mid-to-late rounds and hoping he will pan out. Bird in the hand, is worth more than 2 in a bush. You take a proven College QB (Young), it is more likely you will find elite defensive talent later in the the draft.

No he can't. Why? He is not JJ Watt or LT. Even JJ Watt couldn't move the Texans to elite because of the QB being the issue. NO defensive player can change a franchise unless there is a QB in place.
