I don’t know. Maybe im completely misremembering how he was used him, but from what I remember, similar to now, we gave him the ball a lot and just let him do his thing. Main difference is those first two years we had a vet PG also on the roster that was partially eating into his time of possession.

    TOP
    Year 1 : 5.9 minutes per game
    Year 2 : 6.0 minutes per game
    Year 3 : 7.1 minutes per game

    Front Court Touches per game
    Year 1 : 31.7
    Year 2 : 27.8
    Year 3 : 34.2

I guess I would say, to act like all of a sudden out of nowhere in his 2nd year with us he was asked to do something completely foreign(make plays for others) is disingenuous. I can somewhat buy a slight role change from year 1 to year 2 in Houston, but the big role change happened once he got here in Year 1 compared to his time in Cleveland. Big jump in playmaking his first year here compared to his time in Cleveland.

Time of possession in Cleveland 1.8 minutes per game

Even when adjusted for minutes played it’s pretty clear he was given the ball and entrusted with way more responsibility of running the show upon arrival in Houston.

I think it is kind of like what Harden was used when he was here. He had been the de facto PG/playmaker almost from day 1. But he wasn't the official PG until MDA came. Harden didn't do much differently under MDA other than more ISOs and the elimination of the midrange.

What we are hating to see is that KPJ's role is similar to Harden's was but he is nowhere near the ability of Harden.

James Harden has the single season record for most turnovers all time, and you want something funny, Kevin Porter is in there at 7, not KPJ but his father I believe.

Actually Harden has the number 1, 3, 5 worst turnover seasons all time.

Nah man. Every single player in the NBA plays the exact same amount of games and the exact same minutes per game. Each player gets the ball the exact same amount of time and for the exact same number of possessions. So you can just look at the per game numbers or season totals and it will tell you all you need to know.

There is no relation to that Kevin Porter to KPJ. That Kevin Porter is 72 years old, KPJ is 21. KPJ's dad was killed while trying to help someone being attacked when KPJ was just 4 years old.

Yeah, I know...just thought it was funny.

    Lies, damned lies and statistics......

There is no debating the fact that Harden had the most turnovers in a single season - doesn't matter usage rate, or anything else, the fact is that he turned it over more than anyone else EVER in a single season.

THAT is a fact.....math and stats are what you make of it......and whichever side of the coin you choose to view that fits your narrative......just stay in your lane for your own confirmation biases.

there’s not even any difference between KPJ now and before when he allegedly wasn’t a PG yet in Houston and “allowed to play free”

scoring and efficiency was still trash…his turnover rate was still trash

KPJ fanatics will say anything to try and make an excuse

If you say that harden turned the ball more often them kpj you are outright lying. You can try to twist the numbers all you want, won’t make it true

I think we are trying to make a player into one fluke game he had. Unfortunately the League saw it, understands, adjusted, then moved forward. We are stuck trying to put lighting back in the bottle. Remember that happened after a call up from the G league (coaching). As time passes he drifts back to himself and his personal style of play. Years letter still holding the same bottle here we are.

If Rockets didn’t sign him, he would still be a free agent or in China. Only facts…

Before China he would spend half a season in Europe, punched by a Serbian coach and would be packed to Shangai Sharks.

A punch from any Serbian coach would make him reevaluate a few things about his life lol.

KPJ with some solid 2-way play in the 4th to beat the Bucks.

You keep repeating this garbage like its fact - it isn't. Stats show otherwise .... Just because you keep saying it won't make it fact.

KPJ isolates 3ish possessions per game while the entire team isolates less than 9.

I'm not going to bother linking the stats again, you guys will just ignore it and continue with your narrative.

We are getting a glimpse of what two combo guards can be.
