    Think of the Ku Klux Klan but for the 21st century. These were dudes who marched on Charlottesville several years ago chanting “we will not be replaced” and other anti semitic tropes.

    Yes! The people who were democrats in the 1900s became “independents” in the 21st century in an almost complete reversal. Nixon masterfully turned Democrats into republicans and in the process republicans into democrats.

    The urban-rural divide remains to this day.
