Congrats man. I am happy for you. I will be rooting for Croatia this tournament. Argentina deserved to win this game based on the game. However they really are an bunch of annoying people. The disrespect towards the Dutch players during and even after the game was interesting. I will enjoy seeing Messi fail yet again this tournament. Overall I think we just did not have the talent that we have had in previous years. I have not been a fan of van Gaal in the past (His personality mostly, I always saw he had a brilliant football mind). Just like usual he got the best possible result from his group. It is sad to see him retire. That set piece was brilliant. Of course we lose by pk again. my entire generation has been traumatized because of pk's.
Eh, the Dutch weren't really better sports, either. They tried to interfere with the Argentinian kickers so much during PKs that they were carded. The Argentinian kick to the Dutch bench was certainly uncalled for. I've read a lot of the Argentinian's have had bad history with van Gaal, too, so there's some bad blood there. Ref really had no control over the players. There should have been more reds.

Oh agreed. But I am from the Netherlands. I mostly blame the ref. And I do feel like that the Argentinians started behaving badly first and the dutch reacted to it. But that could just be my homer glasses.
I understand you're looking through orange glasses. The kick into the bench was the first egregious thing I remember, but there could have been smaller aggressions by both teams leading up to that. There was plenty of shithousery that game, which from a neutral perspective, makes it kinda more fun.
It’s not. It’s how they are as a country. Even in the league I play in here. There are 2 teams composed primarily of Argentinians. They are easily the 2 most disliked teams. Dirty and whiners. They’ll come in studs up (in a league where sliding is not allowed) and then b**** to the ref that it was somehow my fault. Decent guys off the field but just dicks on it.
You are probably right but it stands that from the sports perspective the Netherlands were the worse team. So behaving only a tad better does not make them a Fairplay team. I expected an offensive spectacle, while the games had goals, it wasn't satisfactory. I mean you are Dutch but I would treat you no differently than someone from the US or Argentina.

More than other opponents (partly being dirty partly the whining but also the falling down all the time without any contact). So i hope they do not become champions. The dutch media is destroying the team and van Gaal. I agree that we did not play well. However I think it is also just that we do not have the talent we used to have. So I understood trying something different (playing ugly).
I am just happy that an American team and an African team are there, South American team. Should be no full Euro tourney.
I really want to like Argentina and root for them, but holy crap do they make it difficult, bordering on impossible.
This is actually the same for me. I want south American teams to do well. However I cannot stand the arrogance of Brazil and Argentina is always annoying when they play. So I hope all other south american teams do well. Wow Morocco... there are many happy people in the Netherlands.
