Yeah, it's a bit suspect accuse severe myocarditis symptoms from vax as "underreported" while claiming long covid is "overreported". Could be true if there were real data to support it, but just "throwing it out there" isn't really convincing for an open forum.
How does taught bias affect the treatment African Americans receive when in the hospital for things like Covid?
It's not that surprising to have tools that can nip viral stories in the bud. Tools can be used for good or evil, just as how Twitter can be used to spread helpful or harmful info at speeds greater than human comprehension/reaction. Honestly I don't know the best answer for this. I support the ideal of free speech. I also think harmful speech can lay dormant and metastasize like mental cancers.
Weird. I still saw all the anti-mask/anti-mitigation nonsense from him, Vinay and Monica the whole time and after a point Marty joined the party. Of the three (four) only Monica would’ve treated any COVID patients. Jay authored two papers on COVID during the time: an opinion piece saying lockdowns were worse than COVID and another discredited seroprevalence study in California.
I am only busting your balls on this point because he is an expert on medical policy with a conservative slant. But he is an expert in that domain. My point is to not demean his overall scholarship as it has an important place in the academic arena, but nothing he has done over the last three years makes him an expert in either prevention or treatment of COVID-19.
Frankly, this thread should be put to pasture. We are no longer mitigating Covid, and we potentially are going to encounter another wave, but due to the vaccines the mortality rate is at least a 10th of what it was pre-vaccine. It’s not great, but it’s also not 2020/21.
