Have you read this? Or are you just pointing out there is scholarship, albeit a book, about how woke can be conceived as covert racism.

Sounds like a man entrenched in academia tired of people around him with a severe blind spot to the type of people I regularly encountered for years.

If you truly are a professor in liberal academia, maybe that's why you have such disdain for the left.

Maybe my time in a right wing bubbles has made me more disproportionately worried about them.

But ya this dude just seems to have no connection with "people on the land" types

Again, this dude thinks that leftist progressives are more dangerous than Jan 6th rioters and election deniers.

If there is such a thing as "extreme centrist", this guy would be used as the primary example.

The Marine sounds like a garbage person:

He enlisted in the Marine Corps Reserve in 1994.[7] He took military leave from Kelly Services to serve with the Marine Corps Reserve from 2003 to 2008, including service in Iraq. He held the rank of staff sergeant with Marine Air Control Group 38 working as an administrative clerk and administrative chief, and he was part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.[8] After a court-martialconviction in January 2008 on multiple counts "related to larceny", he was sentenced to 60 days restriction, reduction to pay grade E-4, and a bad conduct discharge.[9][10] The specific charges against him included "attempted larceny, three specifications of dereliction of duty, making a false official statement, wrongfully using another’s social security number, and ten specifications of making and uttering checks without having sufficient funds in his account for payment."[11]

He probably was spying but not necessarily for a specific nation state given his loose morals.

This trade does not even work in the ESPionage trade machine.

Whelan should have been included to avoid capping issues.

Is it worth reading? I’ll get it from the university library if you recommend it.

yes, well worth reading. and he's not being a contrarian for contrarian's sake--he really has a spot-on analysis of where "woke" philosophy can and has gone wrong.

The university library does not have it (you’d think it would since book is from 2021). But local library does for kindle.

Do you think his perspective is total? As in no blind spots that if he experienced them, he might revaluate some of his premises?

Yeah it definitely wasn’t the time to “forget” about your vape pen. Going into a foreign country who we’ve made statements against and seemed poised to escalate should put you on alert. Yes the punishment didn’t fit the crime and Russia did that on purpose but be thankful it wasn’t Indonesia.

I will say I wasn’t aware of Paul’s history so I’m not as upset as I was. But I don’t trust government communication and haven’t for decades so i was distrusting of them saying it was her or nothing.

There’s this dumb argument that she went to Russia cause the WNBA wasn’t paying her enough and that WNBA players should be paid like NBA players.
Even the Russians know why WNBA players get paid less breh

Or alternatively she has no other skills like most high level athletes. So she gets paid to play overseas. But she messed up and brought mar1juana oil to Russia and was headed for a prison camp.

The Russians knew she was vaping and let her away with it until Ukraine happened

she should have thrown it in the trash before getting on a plane.. situational awareness is important when you are not in America

also in China , don’t do drugs gringos
