Twitter has terms and services. If a certain ideological group disproportionately violates those terms and services how do you prove in court beyond a reasonable doubt that Twitter wasn't merely following their terms and services where naturally one group was disproportionately spreading misinformation or information that wasn't confirmed yet and stating it as matter of fact and in fact had a political bias?


Given that Twitter was a publicly traded company at the time of these allegations occuring, it's even harder to believe Twitter would have political motivations given the constraints they are under due to their fiduciary responsibilities. What if one set of misinformation and conspiracies are less brand safe and therefore less profitable hence violating the best interests of the shareholders?

Twitter is a corporation and remains one post-Musk. They will run their company in a way that maximizes profit either through users or advertisers. Suppressing hate speech is one way to encourage skittish advertisers to stick to the platform. All of these people who were supposedly affected still managed to show up at the top of my trending feed which is in part why I stopped using the service. I don’t give a **** what Tim Poole, Ben Shapiro, Crowder, Bongino, Bridgette?, Walsh, Kelly, or any of the other online only right wing celebrities think. Yet Twitter would’ve always shove their asinine hot takes at me. They’re all losers.

Twitter is also not Bytedance which actually is a statist institution by charter.

 

Pretty simple — they don’t consider putting an account on a “trends black list” the same as a “shadow ban”.

In short, making a decision not to promote a particular person’s tweets isn’t the same as shadow banning them.

This was common knowledge but it would be neat to see the blacklist.

 

On Reddit a shadow ban worked by having users post and it looks like their posts were there but no one else would see it. It does not sound like anyone was shadow banned. A lot of people were banned, either temporarily or permanently.

 

What is the "search blacklist" category?

 

Not sure but Dan Bongino was not censored on Twitter by Twitter. His crap always floated to the top of the trending topics.

It looks like Bongino was temporarily banned on Twitter on Jan 6, and he promised to not return. But obviously he did.

Same with Facebook, maybe more so. Any conservative crying about being censored is just upset another conservative is getting the attention. It’s like an arms race for them to who can have the hottest take without crossing the line.
