If you manifest us trading Hunter Brown into the universe I’m going to track you down and hurt you. I still am buying up Forest Whitley stock though so I’m not exactly rational on CY young caliber ceiling guys.
I am not But I think that if it was me I would ask for the same thing. I think they would be stupid to ask for less And if they don't get it they should hold him till the trade deadline.
Astros fans need to accept the fact that any huge trade starts with Hunter Brown or Christian Javier (no chance in hell he gets moved) and maybe Luis Garcia. Nothing else we have moves the meter. If you don't want to trade Brown then fine, I don't either, just accept that the trade market for high end talent is closed.
I'm pretty certain this is where Crane is at also He knows we just won the series with a lineup that had some holes, but a pitching staff that was dominant and deep He knows we just lost Verlander Can't imagine he is willing to move any of the other 6 to upgrade an offense that could still use an upgrade, but is already better than the one we just won a title with
No, no, no to trading Garcia It hasn't been that long since our pitching depth won us a title Garcia also still has room to grow, dude barely pitched above A ball before coming up I like all three of those guys coming back, but no no no to trading our pitching depth after already losing JV
There’s a difference between trading Sandoval for a catcher who can’t hit and is a pending free agent, and trading Hader for a proven douche bag in Carlos Gomez, and trading Brown for Murphy. It’s not like I don’t like Brown, but Murphy is one of the 5 best catchers in the league. Just as trading Hader/Sandoval was a mistake, not trading Whitley at the peak of his value was likely a bigger mistake. Goes both ways; pitching prospects carry tons of risk/upside. Typical fans expect to make trades for star level players without giving up anything in return.
Lol, Leon and Maton would not come anywhere close to getting Varsho In fact, that would probably piss off Arizona to the point they wouldn't answer our calls anymore No doubt Leon has a pretty high ceiling, but he isn't a top overall prospect that's gonna move the needle on a guy like Varsho
There is not a route where it would not make more sense to deal McCormick than Brown lol Other teams play a part in negotiations also though
So you feel good basing your opinion of Vazquez on 104 at bats Lol, I guess if someone started watching Yordan at just the right time last year they would say he has no value also cause he had a stretch just as bad Vazquez also went from playing regularly to playing very sporadically, which isn't always easy for a hitter
