I didn't dismiss him for anything about Eason. Just in general, I'm advising people to treat these shows as though it's any two basketball fans talking. I have not walked that back. You just haven't been around long enough to understand what heypartner knows about basketball (barely posts anymore) and I haven't seen Lowe say anything groundbreaking or be on some elevated streak of good predictions. It's just two people talking who did homework to be able to orate their thoughts better. Their success rate is not like a doctor vs the average human. Anyways, just for fun, let's see if Lowe is right about Jalen or I'm right about Jalen. I know there's going to be a video in the near future where he acts like "who could've seen that coming??? the advanced stats were so bad!".
I think his take on Tari is odd. He bases his take on how many wins overall the team has, compared to other teams with young-ish players. But the comment on Walker Kessler and Andrew Nembhard are puzzling? They are playing really nice roles on teams that are doing well - but those teams have VASTLY more experience than the Rockets (80%+ of our points are scored by guys 22 and under - 2nd in the league is 50%). We are going to suffer in the W/L column by nature of being young. That is how the NBA works. I'm assuming he'll use W/L as his rookie of the year criteria?
Agree on the W/L comment, it was odd when one of them said it. Yet in a few breaths later, they fawned over Paolo, where magic's record (and defense) is as bad as ours. I don't necessarily agree with the 'boring' to watch comment; as far as flashiness (dunks and flashy passes), there's a lot more in Rockets game, than the slow pace games that Doncic and the Mavs play. Their opinion is their opinion; people like what they like. Some of their criticism on our offense and how badly we use Jabari is valid. I wouldn't dismiss their opinions entirely because; while we might dissect the Rockets with nuance, they tend to watch more NBA games in general (breadth), than the average Rocket fan. It's literally their full time jobs, so from a team-to-team comparison; it's worth at least consider what they're saying. One tidbit that was interesting was The three man lineup of KPJ, Green and Jabari this season is unfortunately one of the worst in NBA. Adding Sengun helps a little but still one of the worst four man lineups. Data is data, only thing I'd say about that is Rockets should strive to improve. Be humble about where they are right now. p.s. If they talk about Magic, Hornets, and Spurs in future episodes; hopefully they'll cite their lineup and advance stats too. Be even about it.

I'm sure there will always be some armchair fan/ armchair geopolitical strategist/ arm chair Led Zeppellin fan that has greater knowledge than the "expert". You are standing by a completely unprovable claim where you are saying HeyPartner has watched more basketball than Lowe and Givony combined..... We both know you can't possibly quantify/prove it. And people (in Lowe's case) that has connections to NBA agents, scouts, coaches, and executives..... Has HeyPartner ever interviewed Jeff Van Gundy or Morey? Likewise Givony has connections to college scouts and college coaches. Again...... can you quantitative your claim? You are the one making these claims, can you quantify them or they just what you feel? What would that even prove? Pinning everything on one statement? I just think you are being very dismissive when no one is saying we should take their comments as gospel or they are somehow the most enlightened. Just seems like another instance where the evil mainstream sports media says something CF doesn't like and gets butt hurt.
Seriously i listened to this this AM - saying Tari Eason isn't top 10 because his team sucks is about the lamest rationale Givony could come up with. I mean you can think of legit complaints against Eason (finishing sucks) but "team is bad, games are not meaningful" is just... Nah man. It's a rookie ranking - their teams sick - and you have Banchero 1 and Jabari Smith in there lol... Granted i know the article is pure content fluff play, but whatever - came off like he's defending his big board rankings. Note im not saying watching the Rockets PGs and Gordon just ignore everything else and not spot anything doesn't suck. Good points. Yeah I’m sure those two guys have broader NBA knowledge than perhaps 99% of the posters here. It’s their freaking job. But as far as any individual team is concerned, Rox for example, I doubt they will have better takes than us diehard fans who follow the team 24/7 and debate on almost everything from almost every angle about the team.
I am not saying Mobley isn't good but... He is in slightly more minutes (a whole .2 more per game right now) scoring fewer points per game, fewer blocks, fewer assists, more fouls, and more turnovers, his 3% is down a lot to 21.7%. He is good but he is not "clearly" at this point the best in the 2021 class by any means.
Where do you have the total net rating numbers? I feel like KMJ would be a + this year as well? Just from watching games and box scores, KMJ seems to have the biggest +/- impact.
That makes sense from the eye test, Tari and KMJ have the best ratings of guys that actually play regularly. Which is why I am hesitant to trade KMJ so easily right now at 21 years old.

Tari Eason doesn't remember any plays. Tari is a High IQ player, way smarter than Trevor Ariza ever was on offense. Trevor one dribble and can't get by his man throw out back to Harden Iso Dribble 3 point shot

Mobley drastically changes the geometry of the court when he's on. He's the driver of the number 1 defense in the NBA and that's with minus defenders in Mitchell and Garland. Not too shabby on offense too but he doesn't really get any usage with all the scorers on that team.
If he's inaccurate about some, what makes you think he's not inaccurate about all? Obviously, he rarely watch Rockets games.
