Besides him being short for a traditional NFL QB. What do you think makes him a prospect you would skip on? Curious.
That was for Wilson. Mahomes was the first successful NFL QB to come from an air raid system. If you’re basing picks on history, neither of them should’ve gotten drafted, certainly not drafted as high as they did. And I suspect majority of GMs would say that, but these are also the same guys that draft Zach Wilson, Sam Darnold, Mitch Trubisky, Blake Bortles, etc…with Top 3 picks. I also suspect Bryce’s height won’t matter as much come next April.
I compare Young to Mahomes based on creativity outside the pocket. What makes Mahomes special is not even his arm, but his ability to think quicker then everyone else on the field and make stuff happen.
The main factor for this is people projecting a QB to the Texans at 1. Don’t think many scouts have him as the best prospect.
Disagree, What makes Mahomes special is his arm that allows him to make throws others cant. From odd arm angles to across the hash throws 60 yds down the field while on the move.
Agreed, Caserio should ask the media who he should pick before every pick in every rd and lets see how that turns out.
Someone hasn't learned the lesson that Bears have: Don't draft Prototype over production. Bears could have had Mahomes or Watson, but took Mitch Trubisky because he was a prototypical QB in their eyes. Will Levis is Mitch Trubisk.
Fields is showing signs of improvement. I guess you have seen him lately. There would be NO doubt about Young if he was 6'0-6'1.
and he should be the pick if the coaching staff will be the same. No reason to ruin a #1 pick QB with a bad situation. New coaching staff with proven ability to develop QBs hired after Lovie finishes with worst record again to support top pick QB.
Some is Alabama bias honestly. It's hard for me rate him that high when I consider the talent advantage his team has at most positions most Saturdays. The second thing is that I feel he is a guy whose value is in taking what's there rather than making the defense adjust for his capabilities. I just think he'll need guys who can win their matchup to be successful if that makes sense. At 2.1 I want a guy who puts his teammates in advantageous positions not one who requires that advantage. Again, not sure if that makes sense or not.
Tell me type of QB's that are winning SB's or playing in SB's? Are they mostly prototype QB's, or are they Lackson/Fields type QB's? But I will give you this, if you're into excitement more than winning championships, watching these guys play is very exciting.
Supposedly Bama's talent around Young was absolute garbage this year and Young led them kicking and screaming to where they are. CJ on the other hand isn't good under pressure and he's got NFL talent all around him
