Wow that’s pricey for Diaz. Good for him. He will probably be their starting SS.

Odds are that the Astros made a 4 year offer.

I'm not including Brown in any trade. Kid has ace potential and we sure Don't want to be like the Cards when they traded Alcantara and Gallen for Ozuna.

Re: My trade hypo, this is in conjunction with my proposal for Kluber for a 9M, 1yr “ring chase” deal. Slots in as a 4/5, takes the Greinke/JV “wide veteran” role, and gives good innings. Urquidy is solid but overrated. Bielak is fine as a SP6 for us, or Abreu can have a chance to start if that’s what they want. Again, just a hypo.

This will not end well for the As.

Excellent! Aledmys was a good representative of the Astros in his time here, but this opens the door for youth or to make Yuli Gurriel the utility man.

Corbin Carroll is a potential, if not likely, superstar.

But yea, they aren't looking to trade Varsho, they are looking to trade from their OF depth. Varsho would take a very strong return to get them to move him. It would absolutely cost young starting pitching, and I really hope we do not go that path

Feels like Mald/Lee are locks at catcher, Chaz/Leon/Myers locks at center

Astros will try and sign Yuli for bench.
Astros will go after Brantley or Benintendi

    That will be the team.

It is odd that the updates are all just reminders that they are 'close.' Leveraging?

700 ish OPS is league average my dude. If I thought Korey Lee was going to be a league average bat I’d sprint down Crawford Ave naked with lit sparklers up my ass signing All Systems Go.

For 40 games or so at most. I've been a big fan of Diaz when healthy, but him playing a full season as an everyday player just doesn't seem likely at all

I would guess they are betting on him staying healthy for a few months and being able to move him for prospects

That's certainly the best player available that fills the biggest need..LH hitting OF.

Think we do land another catcher would rather pay one of Vasquez, Narvaez, Barnhart than trade but the Blue Jays' catchers and Murphy arent bad options. Dont see a huge market at catcher and the Cards were the team that had it as a top priority. So glad we dodged the Contreras bullet.

    Maybe another pitcher..starter or reliever.

    Maybe an infield reserve.

Nah- you could trade him to a contender that needs help in the bullpen for sure. But yeah- he isn’t going to any team that’s not a contender.

We have so many players that are great that many don't understand how good a solid defensive catcher with a .700 OPS really is
