Just popped in to praise the miniseries Black Bird on Apple TV. Don’t know if it’s already been mentioned. True crime serial killer series with Stingray from Cobra Kai, Greg Kinnear, and Ray Liotta. The main character might be famous too but I didn’t know him.
I just watched TROLL It was ok. Could have been a bit more intense! Some of the Levity fell flat. It was not a horrible movie . . . but 6/10 Rocket River
The White Lotus season 2: 8/10. Season 1 was so so for me but I'm really enjoying the new season. Italian escorts ftw! They seem like the most genuine out of all the characters. Albie too. Banshee: 10/10. Rewatching just cause and I was instantly reminded what a gem it was. Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of curiosities- 5/10- Love me some Del Toro, Benicio or Guillermo but only 3 stories I liked. It's an anthology. Guillermo goes through phases and right now he has this thing where all of his monsters have tentacles. True Blood (season 1 only)- Another rewatch. Damn! It was better than the first time I watched it.
Season finale was one of the most heart racing episodes I have seen in years. Also really enjoyed Slow Horses. Gary Oldman was incredible.
No Rockets more shows to watch! Started this new one on EPIX, Rogue Heroes, 9/10: Nazis, check. British accents, check. Adrenaline fueled, check. Quick viewing, check. (4 episodes). Since Peaky Blinders I'm noticing more European period shows incorporating modern rock music into their production. I don't like it but that's being picky.
Saint Maud is great. I liked Ginger Snaps but that was a long time ago. The fact that Pitch Black is on that list gives me pause, that's not really a horror movie. I need to watch the entire video, thanks.
I think I have seen Hansel/Gretal as well they are 3 very different types of movies, Saint Maud is all about a mood, Hansel/Gretal is more like a action flick and Ginger Snaps is a good werewolf type flick but moody as well it has a specific theme.
Gangs of London is a brutally great show. I see Gareth Evans decided to make the Raid 3 in London and just recasted everyone. For those that say Top Boy is like it, I've heard it's more akin to the British version of The Wire than Gangs of London. Anyone else that can compare them before I commit to watching it?
Hadnt heard of that but mentioning Raid got me interested. How are you watching it; what (hopefully free) streaming service is it on?
The Raid or Gangs of London? Season 1 of Gangs of London is free in Amazon Prime. Season 2 needs an AMC+ subscription for legal streaming. The Raid 1 and 2 I'm not sure.
