Obviously, this is not a new topic but come on! I sat earlier listening to two co-workers trying vehemently to defend these two clowns. Ya'll need to laydown the political blinders. Aware Fetterman had a stroke. I am a stroke survivor as well, and do not think that the dude should have been pushed through while he is STILL recovering. Terrible that the Dems pushed him through, and awful the Republicans did the same with Walker, as he is most likely suffering from CTE. Party before everything.

Republican Herschel Walker says in rambling speech he wants to be 'werewolf, not vampire' - YouTube

John Fetterman suffers another blunder on live TV - YouTube

Yeah, Walker is dumb as a rock, and that's normal for him. If you put him together with MTG and Boebert their total IQs combined would probably be below average of most folks. That's the GOP for ya.

It’s ****ed up and ironic that the GOP, the party of old, fat, angry, stressed out people that are at the highest risk of stroke are trying to spin a stroke victim’s communication issues as an IQ problem.

GOP is the party of hate.

MTG and Bobert are asshats. These are other great examples of dummies that are in positions of power.

This OP is ignorant AF. As someone who is close to a loved ones who have had strokes, you have no idea what you are talking about. The knowledge, personality, and wisdom you had pre stroke is still there but your brain just needs therapy to remap those parts of your brain that either got cut off from blood supply or had a blood vessel burst.

Hershel Walker has likely also had brain injury as well likely due to numerous concussions, but in regards to character that’s an entirely different category than neuro trauma. The guy put a gun to the head of his wife and has been accused of beating another woman.

People who have had strokes don’t have a pattern of violent behavior but often CTE sufferers such as Junior Seau and Aaron Hernandez have a much more troubling pattern of brain injury.

It’s just night and day comparing the two and seeing the fact patterns and history of ex football players with brain CTE related brain injury. Hershel Walker should be getting treatment.. not running for Senate while Fetterman’s best recovery is to actually go out and… speak and be on his feet along with physical and occupational therapy.

Attempting to whataboutism this is brazen and ignorant at best.

You are stupid but you can improve if you try harder. Put in the effort and you will quit typing stupid things,

The thing you need to realize is that moronic level “both side” isms is quite popular in todays Republican echo chambers. and among the uneducated. People outside of those groups actually possess critical thinking, so stuff like this is quite useless among the sentient.

I've personally had a stroke myself back in 2019, and aware of the recovery period. As someone who has gone through this before, I don't think Fetterman is fit for the office at this point. I can comment on that, as someone who HAS BEEN THROUGH IT. You have not, and now look ignorant AF. It's awful that the Dems pushed him through after he just had one. I truly feel for the guy.

Have you had a stroke before? I have and wouldn't have put myself in that situation that Fetterman did when I was going through recovery. Irresponsible of you left wingers to trot someone out there who JUST HAD A STROKE. Again, Party before everything.

Fetterman is not an idiot. He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Albright college. He received a MBA from the University of Connecticut, and he received a Master of Public Policy degree from Harvard.

He may not look like a traditional politician, and he may have some difficulties after suffering a stroke. But, he’s no idiot.

u claiming that Fetterman is an “idiot” and “beyond mental” putting him in the same sentence as someone like Herschel Walker makes u a chump…foh

morons will say anything to try and equalize both sides…a pathetic sign of desperation

I actually like the everyman persona that he projects. I have nothing against that at all. I realize my word choice was not sympathetic, and that was very inconsiderate of me considering I am a stroke survivor too. I just do not think he should have been put in this situation. It takes a LONG time to get back to some kind of "normal", and sometimes you never really get back to that point.

Desperate of what exactly? I haven't voted for one of the two big parties since 2000. There is absolutely nothing I find redeeming about the Right, especially the ignorant QAnon turds, and the Left as well. Not sure exactly what I am being desperate of. It's funny that criticism of both parties is somehow an "echo chamber" for the Right. Things like that sound like bootlicker groupthink.

I find the reflexes of the leftists on the board embarrassing for them. Someone just points out an obvious truth - both these candidates were inadequate - but just because he doesn't ONLY attack the candidate from the right, he is already attacked and "the enemy". Like Pavlov's dogs. Sad state of affairs really for you kids from the left.

Do I really have to spell it out for u? U made a pathetic attempt to try and compare Fetterman to Herschel Walker, a typical bullsh*t tactic used to try and equalize the left and right when they are eons apart.

trying to compare a recovering stroke victim to Herschel and claiming that they are both idiots and beyond mental makes u look like a complete dumbass…not to mention all of Herschel’s history of multiple personalities, extreme violence, and being a dead beat dad

u thought u had something with this lame thread, but u don’t…try harder next time

this both sides trash isn’t fooling anyone

Perhaps you should do a better job in your original post - A superficial level statement that Walker and Fetterman are impaired by stroke and CTE reads exactly like what it was taken to mean - that there the two candidates are comparable in quality.

if you want to be intellectually honest, you would note the vast difference in education, intellect and character. But you didn’t bother because well it is easier to wade in the kids pool.

And know your audience. I don’t think anyone here would mistake me for a left winger. I’m just here to call out stupidity. lastly, I may be guilty of the same thing since I assumed you were a Republican. If that is incorrect, I didn’t know my audience and my bad on that one. I made that assumption because your original post is very much the kind of thing I see from republicans all the time. But no excuse, I didn’t know my audience so my bad.

I actually feel like a dick considering I have had a stroke myself, and didn't realize how tone deaf that was when I originally posted this.

As someone who has had a spouse suffer a stroke even at a young age, and helped her learn how to walk again, I think I speak with enough experience. I can't imagine people writing her off like you are in this case. Especially if you went through one yourself you'd think you'd have a different perspective about being written off.

Fetterman does not have character issues. Walker does. That's the point I was making. Fetterman never put a gun to the head of his wife, or beat a woman. Fetterman has a disability that just like driving with a disability is overcome with modification. There's no disability modification to be had with someone who puts the gun to the head of his wife.

I fully believe that Fetterman will recover more than well enough to be a Senator. If Diane Feinstein and Chuck Grassley can be a Senators at their age, Fetterman, while just learning how to remap and working on speech and occupational therapy, will be fine.
