I hope that one day KPJ becomes a starting level player in the NBA, but Sengun is in a completely different tier. Someone should make KPJ aware of the power dynamics here if he's too dumb to realize it on his own.
I got it but not convinced about future KPJ-Alpi combo. Either KPJ will be moved to another role or Alpi will be traded. As JGreen-Alpi cooperation works better and better day by day and KPJ does better with Bruno, I envisage 6th man of the year award for KPJ. Suggest JGreen-Sengun studies more. Or just trade Alpi and improve Bruno's skills or sign another big.
I think system will play a major role on if KPJ and Sengun can work. Iso heavy, middle of the floor PnR systems is not it for this team. Using it here and there as part of an overall system is great, making it the main function of the system won't work. If you were to bring in a coach from Spolstra or Adelman's tree, or just a coach with a more motion centric system, I think KPJ could actually be the perfect combo PG for this team with Sengun. Time will tell.
Alpy needs to prove that he's not just Enes Kanter, a guy who is great offensively but is a liability defensively. I see him giving a lot of effort out there on defense, so hopefully he can become somewhat of a neutral there while having the offense to make up for it.
KPJ believes this is his team and won't learn till a harsh demotion. Can he handle psychologically, I am not sure. He recently quoted that there is no reason the team to change the course because of loses. Actually it is a dream scenario for him. You do whatever you want, get paid $20M a year, no defend at all and no one complaining (he defended Harden and the game was won, it is not a coincidence), to be #1 guy in a team stacked #2 pick,#3 pick and overseas MVP.What else he could imagine 2 years ago as an outcasted second round pick? Quin Snyder comes, demote KPJ and he throws soup around. That is the possible outcome. If not, Silas stays, KPJ enjoys the reign, Alpi to be traded, another waste decade for the Rox.
Yup, he is not on Ben Wallace level and unortunately never will be.As Rockets has a luxury of great defensive centers in the squad, Alpi should be benched and Gobert or S.Adams should start instead. The boy undersized, low stamina, foul-prone,3pt percentage is low.Being the youngest to score 1000 points and 200 assists does not matter, he did not score 30 points in a single game yet or 20 rebs.Rubbish. Trade him asap.Alpi+3FRPs to Indiana to get Myles Turner.
Alpi had a great defensive night against to one of the best center in the world and people questioning his defensive skills!Bulls.... Another banana IQd poster had a nausea after reading my sarcastic reply.Good.Hope he vomits.
The petty bickering and name-calling on both sides is frustrating to me. You can be on opposite sides of a debate without demeaning the other side and calling them "Sengun only fans" OR by insulting other players and fans who might be critical of Sengun. We're all Rockets fans here. We don't have to agree. But whether you're for the tank or not or you're on Team Sengun vs. Team KPJ, etc., we all ultimately want what's best for the future of the franchise.
I really don't mind to be called as : Rudy T only fan Moses Malone only fan Hakeem only fan Sam Cassell only fan Zan Tabak only fan... I have always a favourite player/coach in the team, no problem, I am proud of this habit. Alperen is my favourite player at the moment followed by Tari, jabari and Josh. I also don't mind if anyone complains for Alpi's assist numbers, Tari's lay-ups or Josh's non-ball sharing. But after watching last night game if someone complains about Alpi's defense, Tari's energy or Jabari's rebounding, I see a different agenda there. I am not happy to be rude to anyone and they force too much sometimes. That is the weakest part of my soul I guess. Should ignore them instead.
LOL ALPI STILL DIDNT PLAY 10 FULL NBA GAMES(30+MINUTES) Alperen Sengun Game by Game Stats and Performance | ESPN in his prime hes gonna be a DEFENSIVE FORCE....
You know this because you chat with KPJ regularly? A few weeks ago Jalen talked about loses aren't important development is this year. KPJ plays within a system. Theres been 0 reason to believe that he is choosing to run the system this way. This is Silas' system. Luka ran it and he wants KPJ running it. He was brought here to have Harden run it also. The team struggles with off ball movement on defense, but defends iso well. He has major shortcomings that he has to work through, but there's been 0 reason to believe he refuses to adjust. He waves of Sengun too much, and struggles center PnR with him, but there's been nothing to indicate he refuses to adjust and improve based on system. I still believe Silas is the issue, however recently the team's been improving within the system and I'm really hoping he proves to be a great head coach for this team. Otherwise, Quinn Snyder would be awesome, or the GLeague coach that we have on the bench now (I cant remember how to spell his name) or, I really like Chris Quinn. Either way, Im starting to really enjoy KPJ and his growth over the last few games, and really see a team of KPJ, Green, and Sengun leading the way being great.
