We know the targets. Contreras, Bassitt and Nimmo. Each about $20M AAV,

Bassitt slides in to SP4 between McCullers and Brown.
    Nimmo to CF and DH.
    Contreras at C2 and DH

A bit dissapointed, sure its a ton of money, but for a two year deal? Not as bad as I expected.

If JV goes to Mets, at least we know we won’t see them much. Mets are still the Mets

At least we know we'll never have to see him in the playoffs.

Would you be fine in giving Bassitt 4 years? Apparently that's what he's looking for. Yes, sometimes you don't get what you want. Also was he 1 of the players that received a qualifying offer so whoever signs him will lose a pick/international money?

If true Mets are the team then best wishes. I was really hoping he would stay. He has some great pitching left in his arm and he has such great knowledge on hitters and how to pitch a game and full season.

I had a feeling Mets would pay crazy amount once DeGorm left. I'd bet the rumors are pretty close to accurate.

No problem with JV going to the Mets. That would be a **** load of money.

I wouldn’t get too excited until the ink is dry on a JV deal. He was gone once before and the baseball world was SHOCKED that he RE upped in Houston. This is different, but right now rumors are rumors to me.

I don’t think he goes to Atlanta.

If JV goes to the Mets he can watch the WS from home every year just like Springer, Correa, and Cole.

A lot of stuff is going to go down in the next 48 hours around the league.

Astros are really aggressive and have multiple offers out there to players and it isn’t a situation where it is “either/or”, so there is a chance multiple top tier players could end up in Houston.

Astros would like to get something done because they anticipate this being a strong market for players with large contracts handed out.

Verlander has been waiting for the Judge signing to see if that would motivate bigger offers. The DeGrom signing has resulted in the Mets upping their offer quite a bit.

Dodgers have a two year deal out there to Verlander. Astros have a two year deal as well. Blue Jays have strong interest but no formal offer.

Astros and Dodgers and Mets have made large one year offers to a number of players.

Sounds exciting for next few days. People should be happy with the activities?

The Astros have a fairly good pitch of "hey wanna be a part of a better offense than the 27 Yankees with the best bullpen in the league?"

They have money to spend and they can practically guarantee a world series to any top tier FA

Warmly welcome Contreras and one of Benintendi, Conforto or Nimmo.
