Report was that the HD was altered to the point where the FBI likely will never be able to figure out what is real and what's planted. They can't trust the content on the HD and have to confirm through other sources. This seems to be a very sloppy job by someone or a professional (the best propaganda machine does this - they plant fake among real).

Well Rudy Giuliani was pretty much working for team Trump. The laptop story was clearly an attempt at an October surprise that failed miserably because there were huge chain of custody and hoax issues, so much of the media took a wait and see approach. It later turned out to be real and not much there, but MAGA still brings it up like Benghazi because they really can only process two of three things at a time.

I was in a hotel a few weeks ago and was scrolling through cable tv and landed of Fox news for a few minutes and they mentioned Hillary's emails and Hunters laptop in the 10 minutes I watched.

Most predictable moves ever by the left journalists...attacking the messenger (Taibbi) and otherwise continuing to try and keep the whole topic under wraps as much as possible.

The left? Nah they really sincerely don't care what happens to the Biden family. The left honestly doesn't even touch much of the surface level "corruption" like President family members grifting such as Hunter or Ivanka.

The left just cares about "systemic" corruption that influences the common person such as rent price fixing using software algorithms

Russia gets too much credit for this. It was the Mercer family the was the major source of funding for the Brexit / Trump social media propaganda campaigns.

I don't recall ever saying there is no other explanation.

Since you came up to that conclusion yourself, let me help you out a bit. There are other explanations, including multiple versions of the "original" copies that are provided, some intact, some altered. Blow your mind on why that happened.

Ah yes, your and @larsv8 posts reminded me of the story at issue.

Speaking for me, yeah it’s a bad look because daddy got Hunter some $$ by getting him on the board. I think it is unscrupulous, but it is also garden variety politics. To analogies, it is a misdemeanor. I would venture to guess that dozens and dozens of US government officials, including probably dozens of US presidents and Vice Presidents have enriched their families by peddling actual or perceived influence.

And to engage in the inevitable whataboutism or context, Trump withholding aid while demanding dirt on Biden as a quid pro quo is meaningfully worse.

And as all of this relates to the 2020 election, whoop dee doo. People were not going to vote for trump or stay home because of this story.

If republicans want to run with this alleged Twitter story suppression as evidence of a corrupt media, sure, ok, go for it. Hell, it might even be true.

At this point, it doesn’t matter one bit to me because the Republican is so repugnant and dangerous that it needs to be stopped, period. I mean, isnt that the proper mentality in todays politics according to Republicans?

The ends justifies the means. Democrats have a long ways to go before they can even catch up to Republican tactics of destroying the concept of truth, facts, science, education, law, etc. Better get busy Dems, bc Trump and DeSanctimonious are coming in 2024.

One of Twitter's main use cases is direct information from the source to the public. No middleman, no gatekeeper. It's an attractive use case that has enabled much learning for many and to fight censorship for others. Of course, it has also been abused by bad actors... but anyhow.

    The irony.

Musk went with a gatekeeper. He decided to only release the Twitter Files to one reporter. This isn't Twitter-like but more like traditional media. This is not full transparency and in the context of his narrative and of the reporter's previous reporting on this subject, it's closer to propaganda.

He said he’s going to release it to Bari Weiss next and eventually will make the whole thing public, but it will take time.

Clearly he wants to be confident in the messaging around it and ensure people interpret whatever is disclosed in a manner that he can agree with. This is transparency and fee speech in his universe, I guess.

But the contents they blocked were basically p*rn. I thought the “conservative” believes that looking at p*rn is a sin? If Twitter decided against releasing nude photos of Trumps penis would the conservative right be crying foul then?

Why did the IMF and bipartisan support in Congress want Victor Shokin removed?

If I was the GOP I would tackle the issues that most directly effects most Americans like rent pricing skyrocketing, healthcare costs, education costs etc.

But nah, Hunter and trans people. The GOP ran a campaign equivalent of a street preacher b****ing about grooming this and trans that. And you know what most people.do when they see a street preacher?

Walk by them. And that's what midterm voters did. Walk by the GOP.

I definitely care about national priorities and how nation will end from merely ignoring real issues and propagandizing presidential family drama and trans swimmers.

I di.t think you've ever posted a relevant issue that effects normal people here. It's either this surface level corruption vs or fighting for the right of professors to tell their students that their ethnicity doesn't belong in America.

Its actually kinda great because now dems can push through actual things (like they are doing)and can move this country forward. The midterms show us that their formula isn't working and the apathy of Hillary clouded their mind thinking they got something. It's really quite funny.

The best thing that can happen is to have them trot out orange again and keep talking about hunter.

Everyone will vote the opposite like we are seeing and all do.

We keep telling them how to win (help the country) and get their party correct and yet they simply can't.

They are mad and it's only getting worse. They are taken over and can't find a way out. Even posters here supporting them keep talking crazy and all it does is enforce the opposition. Your preacher analogy spot on.. with a dash of Travolta.

The funny part is they think people would vote for that yet results since after orange sneaked in show otherwise. Hillary was the best thing that ever happened to them.

    Now they are chasing shadows
