about what? folks telling us our US men national soccer team sucks?

We do suck, u cannot possibly watch this game and thought we were even close to competing. No striker, no real marquee player (folks hype up Pulsic, but man was dam invisible this game), defense was awful. I thought the goalie played decent.

Passing accuracy was hot garbage. For a first world country we played like a third world one, and that's me being generous.

US Folks coping by pointing out that we placed higher than Germany, Belgium and what not.

But dam right delusional if they think US can beat those teams. We can't score to save our lives. I'm just disappointed.

Soccer or futbol is a beautiful sport, it just sucks to see us b so bad at it.

I was impressed with the US team, actually. Much better than under Klinsmann, and a long way from the playing days of Alexis Lalas. Very good technical skills.

That said, I want the Netherlands to end Messi's career, and to win it all. They have been such a great footballing nation for so long, and got close so many times. They would deserve it. It should be their turn.

My friend who also got coached by Pep, Mourinho, Heynckes, Hitzfeld, etc. says van Gaal is the best coach he ever had, by the way.

Also, I like De Ligt who plays for Bayern (and his hot girlfriend).

Any phenoms coming up? Feels like they need someone to help Pulisic up top. This team would have beat the last two US World Cup teams.

Netherlands look quite beatable. I thought out of the team that made it out from their group, Senegal looked like the more dangerous team.

Pepi should have been there but yes there are a lot of young guys coming up that will add to this team....

Gonna cheer for the Netherlands to get their first now.....I like how they play, they are very clinical.

For all the good Title 9 has done for women it has made Men's soccer much harder to grow......there just aren't many scholarships available or full rides...Div 1 teams have 3 a year and usually split it 2 or 3 ways.

My son got offered as a CB/MF at Michigan, Umass, Duke, and a few others......ultimately though they were all split - which was fine, but then he got a full ride to Utah in Academics for Nuclear Engineering - he took that and just plays club and pickup now.

If he would have gotten a full ride - he might still be playing....but Title 9 ****s men's sports.

Dude b serious, do u honestly think we can beat Germany, Belgium, any of the high scoring teams that got eliminated?

Our offense blows. We lucked our way into a top 16 position. Yes i am happy that we got into top 16, but i do hate delusional folks who think we are actually decent at the game.

we are on the clock for the next world cup, hopefully we have a stronger team by then or we might get embarrassed.

I get triggered by folks who cope instead of accept the reality that the men US soccer aint good enough yet and possibly might never b good enough to win it all.

I do admit that we are a bit better, tying against england is no easy feat.

We are decent, we have a relatively strong defense, a great midfield and a below average stable of strikers.....we need someone to show up at that spot to complete the team.

We have some....Haji ain't it.....Pefok, Pepi to name 2 might be.

They remind me of Germany’s past World Cup teams. Efficient passing and quick scores in the middle of the box.

I don’t really know how US fans watch this game and get disheartened. Easily could have been a 2-2 game heading in to the added PT.

Think the game was winnable had they not started Ferrera and really kept pushing the ball down Dest and Weahs side. There defenders didn’t have the foot speed when they were fresh.

I compare US Soccer to its past teams. This team is clearly better.
Pulisic scores that ball 80/100 times. It’s 1-0 and anything can happen from there.

Let’s not ignore that the US also controlled a lot of possession. Something that US teams did not do much of in the past.

I think we lack fundamentals. our passing ability is quite poor. I'm not expecting perfect passes right into the feet of our players 100%, but there have been countless of point of the match where the offense made poor passes that stopped the momentum of the ball, allowin the Dutch defense to shore up. We do b lacking someone with enough talent to break up the defense with their dribbling abilites.

for all the angst about whether Reyna should start/play, having Ferreira/Wright up front, starting Zimmerman over CCV...ultimately it was mistakes by three of our best players, Adams, Dest, and Robinson that led to the three goals.

The US did have its chances, and one wonders how the game would have been different if Pulisic had buried that early chance, but tired bodies and minds lost the game. that's ultimately on GGG, for not using his subs better earlier in the tournament, although it's tough to second guess him when they got through the group.

GGG is a great recruiter, and seems to have instilled a real camaraderie in this group, but for the players sake, I hope they find a different coach for '26.

Thomas Frank would be my first choice.

Probably understated. The US has Turner at Arsenal, Pulisic at Chelsea and Mckinney at Juventus. That's top flight stuff. If they could groom a world class striker on Harry Kane's level it could vault them to Top 10ish status. Issue with them just like Mexico is that they're just not dangerous on the counter, can't cross and can't finish. They're also pretty short. Look at Van Dijk. Dudes a unit.

Can Biden offer Haaland US Citizenship and any actress he wants in exchange for playing for the USMNT? He isn't doing anything most World Cups.
