Worlds richest man got 'lucky' with investing. Im sure he got lucky with Paypal and all of his previous ventures.

Again, I am not saying Musk is a technogod or he is the most talented engineer, but to regulate him as an 'investor' is just being obtuse.

Im switching back to my original thesis about you - You're nothing but an angry troll who in some weird way thinks being a contrarian is a badge of honor.

Nah everything I type is sincere. Me being a contrarian? **** I've been accused of being a woke npc also.

Do you even know what Musk did with Paypal? What coding responsibilities he had?

There appears to be a lot of mythologizing about Musk's expertise, like he's a real-life Tony Stark building machines on the side. I think he's a highly intelligent and focused CEO with the necessary technical competence to lead a group of senior engineers working underneath him. It's hard to know what's real and what isn't, but this Quora post is likely a good summary of his "engineering" role:

Is Elon Musk the best engineer at SpaceX and Tesla or are there others beyond him?

    ...

He spends his time doing high-level CEO & CTO executive stuff.

Guiding engineers to consider thinking about certain obscure problems that are pressing or as yet unseen & unobserved by the market or customers but are prescient observations that he’s correlated through deep matrixed barnstorming thought with other trusted engineers. Or he’s motivating leaders to investigate certain new technology concepts & paradigms that are trending in certain tangential or adjacent industries that nobody see’s as relative & correlated to his vision (yet) and pushing eager engineers to figure out if there is some innovative way for alternative technologies/approaches to be applied to the problem-space of rockets and EV cars, batteries, rocket engines, electric engines etc, etc. Pushing peers and direct reports to ‘fail faster’ by prototyping ideas in innovative low-cost ways that take less resources, less time and get to a ‘fast answer’ with a direction-ally accurate first-cut assessment (with supporting facts, proof & data) that he can leverage to make a quick informed go-no-go decision on that gives the company an large operational execution advantage over its competitors. - before his competitors even now they’ve moved in a different direction, again!

These are the kind of ‘synthetic executive engineering tasks’ that he is intimately involved with on a day to day basis. - Engineering thought & execution leadership. - This is what’s meant by the fluffy words of… “Overseeing product strategy, development & manufacturing” - Not actual engineering hands-on hammering stuff.

^notice how the discussion pivoted to "Musk is/is not a smart engineer" because it is obvious even to his most ardent sycophants like @Space Ghost that his comedic talents and posting skillz are highly defective.

I think becoming the richest man in the world and having legions of adoring fans that elevate you to genius-god status can affect anyone's humility.

Twitter didnt crash and burn after laying off 90% of the company so now the bitter Elon atheists must pivot to a new narrative: 'he isn't funny'.

Sure thing - I don't doubt the reasons.

I don't have a beef with the guy past the idea now that he too is trying to control the media narrative ( as bezos,Murdoch) already are doing. I suppose to your point if I was richest dude in world I would try to as well.

So we are talking my perspective and I don't like much of what he is pushing lately and I'm not on board with his politics. That said I predict twitter will likely succeed. Too many rich people wanting to influence and musk an easy conduit. Look at Ellison ready to give him a billion without flinching. These guys want to buy influence of media and that is worth a lot to them Saudi etc.

it will get better for twitter and ultimately a 'success'
    That's just my hunch.

Bill gates has a cockiness to his nature but he also has endeared himself to me quite easily by virtue of being seemingly somewhat 'nice' and relatively humble

He's TERRIBLE, cringe, frat-humor, fart-humor level at comedy BUT sometimes, like 1 in 19 he has something genuinely funny. Better'n most CEO/founders.

The best defense of the assertion that Elon Musk tweets like a fark.com era boomer is....

.... @Os Trigonum posting Babylon bee memes from the empty nest.
