I'm trying to think of a center being a main focal point in winning a championship recently....
    since Duncan and the Spurs.

Help me out...I said Sengun is Marc but I meant Pau Gasol.

So recent centers? Was Marc Gasol with the Raps when Kawhi/Siakim won it? How big a role did Gasol play if so?

    Bogut? Screener

    Tristan? Mozgov? Screener(s)

    Haslem? Screener

    Kevin Love? Maybe?

    Looney? Screener

Just off memory....I will need to look when a big center/power forward won a championship
while contributing a significant role like being the man

So you think Alpi is shorter than Hedo. Need to go to Specsavers/Vision Express.

If Bari can play the 3, i alpi's chances of being an integral player on a championship team led by Wemby, otherwise, i think he'll have to back Wemby up and that's a damn fine luxury to have.

And Jabari, who is a natural PF, goes where? We’re gonna have a starting PF that provides no floor spacing

Not just that.. think of one that couldn’t stretch the floor, protect the rim, or play good defense all around. Sengun would definitely be the he first if this somehow happened

Yeah AD in the bubble; but he is mobile

Brook Lopez....but didn't do much in the finals.
Team was mostly carried by the 3 of Gianni's/Middleton/Holiday. A 3-pt shooting big in Bobby Portis

That means he’d be guarding guys like Giannis, Siakam, AD, KD, Zion, Grant, and Paolo. Yikes

Brook provides elite rim protection and 3 point shooting. These guys also bring more length

it’s already hard enough finding a C that can stretch the floor and feel comfortable defending the perimeter/contesting perimeter shots…all those attributes now become a must with Sengun at PF

Sengun is a definitely a 5. What do you think about those how say Jabari can play the 3? Typically 3s have to be able to handle some and attack off the dribble, right?!

there are the Trevor Ariza types in this league, but Jabari is a 4 to me that can play some minutes at the 5

Yeah that’s true.. when I think 3, I think of PG13, Kawhi, Tari, etc… I agree with you and Jabari could play the 5 a lot down the road when he bulks up.

Lopez shot very poorly in the finals series though.

Im sorry to tell people this but the league felt
Olajawon post and repost with deeper position back and forth kick outs to Kenny Smith or
    Vernon Maxwell was too boring.

The Ewing post ups and back and forth kick outs
to their guards were lame. Boring.

So the league changed the rules to favor 3-pt shooting and discourage the post up game.

Teams are more advantageous to get some facilitating guards in this guard driven league
and screen for them and let them pin their ears back and attack.....kick outs to 3-pt shooters all
    along the entire perimeter.

So Sengun was in the 60 something NBA percentile before these Denver games in post ups
Post ups in high volume are not sustainable vs the good teams in the playoffs.

Sengun was 100% in NBA percentile in isolations, again before the Denver games. People are posting most of the season on how isolations are so boring and you can't win running isolations.....but wait, if Sengun ran Iso....that would be worth watching!!

Then it becomes obvious that it's more about man crushes then actually basketball I.Q.

The league would have to change or tweak
the current rules to allow Sengun to win.
They won't while he is in Houston.....maybe if
he went to a large market.

Yeah for sure. Sengun is a great offensive talent, I just worry about his archetype bc you have to build around him. Don’t see us winning it that way. This is why the pacers shipped Sabonis out to get a guard. We will see tho, anything is possible!

Aren't we talking about ceiling here? Doesn't Senguns ceiling pretty clearly include him being a good 3 point shooter?

Yes and why the Jazz gave up on DPOY guy in Gobert.

I can see teams running drop coverage defense to keep the big man near the paint will continue to lose.

The playoff teams surround their facilitators with many 3-pt shooters and eventually take advantage and exploit the weak link. Weak link being one defender
not willing to contest the 3-pt line.

    3's being greater than 2's

If we can't build to beat the Warriors then we are just spinning our wheels. Many teams are trying to form that same model. In order to be the best you have to beat the best.

Yankees are trying to figure out how to beat the Astros....as most teams are.
