After Michael Bay’s decade-long tenure at the helm of the wildly successful and increasingly byzantine Transformers movies, the Bayformers are getting a soft reboot and finally going Beast Mode. The first trailer for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is finally here, giving longtime Beast Wars fans the opportunity to stand up and cheer at the big screen versions of Optimus Primal, Cheetor, and all of their various friends and enemies. As we learned last summer, Rise of the Beasts isn’t a straight adaptation of Beast Wars, but a movie that will bring some of its characters into the fold with franchise staples like Optimus and Bumblebee. And while no one is ruling out the Predacon villains from the animated series, the antagonists this time around will be the Terrorcons, a new threat created just for Rise of the Beasts. While this might not be the big reset some Transformers fans may be hoping for, it looks to be fresh enough to woo back those who have lost interest. It’s hard not to feel fond about Beast Wars characters entering the fray, and new humans on both sides of the camera — in director Stephen Caple Jr. (Creed II) and stars Anthony Ramos (In the Heights) and Dominique Fishback (Judas and the Black Messiah) — make it feel like a bit of a creative reset too. The Bumblebee movie was so damn good. If yall have not seen that one, you need to see it ASAP. Modern day take on the Iron Giant. ***Edit - this is the direct Sequel to Bumblebee. Hell yeah***
The Bumblebee movie had Travis Knight as director. He isn't a part of this one, so we'll see how this one goes.
They’re still making this sh*t? I’ll never forget when they had those 2 negrobots Mudflaps and Skids on there… that asianbot talking all sorts of “yes sensei” too these movies been trash since LaBeouf was on the big screen acting out the “plot”
just going by the previous racist transformers movie... i wouldn't be surprised if the people behind the franchise thought, "let's hire a black director and make an urban movie". since beast wars features a gorilla optimus.
Beast Wars was a great adaptation of the Transformers IP. Obviously not following the story at all. The Beast Transformers were also much smaller than the OGs. I saw Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Rhinox, Airazor, but didn't recognize any others or any Predacons. I'll probably watch this when it hits a streaming platform. I loved Beast Wars growing up. The last Transformers movie I watched was with the Dinobots. I don't know how many they've made since.
Didn't know this movie was being made. Got interested when I saw the thumbnail for the trailer because I loved Beast Wars as a kid, but the trailer itself brought me down quickly. Looks like just another shitty Bayformers movie.
Why... just... why..... oh right money... I am looking forward to the pitch meeting and honest trailer of this movie. That is all I will see from this movie.
Has anyone asked what Tarantino or Scorsese thinks of this yet ? Honestly, we all know they will continue to make these crap movies because CHINA loves them. They're Gucci as long as they don't F up and put a dark skinned guy on the movie poster.
