More qualified than the goobers Trump or Bush dug up from the lobbyist carousel.

What was that billionaire chick who ran the department of education? Real classy broad...

The trans part of the story is largely irrelevant. A federal employee charged with a felony is the bigger story. Dunno why you would risk your career for that. It's a sorry excuse of an explanation, too.

A Daily Beast article I read said the camera caught them taking the tag off the luggage as they picked it up and putting it in their handbag. There's no way to explain that away.

Yeah, I read that part in the OP article. Brinton had clear intentions to steal the luggage.

That's not proper English. It makes no sense.

"A person is waiting at the door, but I don't know who they are or what they want."
"Go see what they want. They might be asking about their money."
"Alright, I'll just give it to them."

All proper English. All used in reference to a single person whose gender is either unknown or considered irrelevant to the conversation the two people are having.

Don't disagree with you that it can be confusing. But it's proper English.

i was coming in here to say the same thing. this person should resign and if they dont they should be fired. i think most reasonable people can agree that they should not continue to work for the government.

They is the best we have for now. (Grammatically correct, ha!)

Can't call the person by assumed at-birth sex.
Doesn't personally feel right to call person by self designated gender.
Inappropriately rude to use It as pronoun.

Cons used to be the more conscientious of the 2 sides. I think it's the most respectful to call the person They unless something liken Thon, Ze, Zer, etc becomes more accepted in the vernacular...

Call me cynical, but the media seems to be doing Biden a favor by sitting on it until "more fax", ie fart it out on the weekend b-line if no one complains, maybe even no resignation.

Quite a contrast from Obama era, where upon a whiff of media scandal, said person would be thrown out the bus before the signature ink has dried on the resignation letter.

    Good times.

2k+ luggage is to die for?

In your examples, your subject is singular, so the proper pronoun would be he or she. I dislike using "they/their" for a nonbinary person. That is a plural pronoun. I'll just refer to the person by the given name instead of a pronoun.
