Hedo Türkoğlu His Best Year: 19.5 pts, 5 asst, 5.7 rb I think this is the FLOOR for Sengun in the next year or so. I expect more Assts and Rebounds . . . maybe less points Rocket River
Well he was a 1-3 that could defend 1-4. Adelman, bless him, tried to get Hedo bigger so he could play the 4 but that didn't work. Hedo got musclebound, slowed down and lost his touch. Fortunately that experiment went on for just one year.
Hedo Turkoglu Height: 6′ 10″ Weight: 220 LB Alperen Sengun Height: 6'9 Weight: 235 LBS I think Sengun CAN BE a better passer and rebounder Unsure if his shot will be as good or better but He is better around the basket. Rocket River
He wasn't called Mr 4th Quarter for nothing. I don't think Alpi can ever be as good a shooter. There are not many at all who could. About that 6'9" thing though...
its a blasphemy to reduce sengun to some numbers, even if they pretty good looking, hes a magician, an artist, a bb hero...
lol you make me laugh but yes, Alpi has "it" I am amazed that not everyone can see it. I am far from a real expert, but I can see it clearly.
My only concern is his size and athletic ability. If he was athletic, like Bam Adebayo, I would be all in on Sengun but he's not. He played well against Jokic because neither really play defense. They play in stretches but that's not their strong suit. I don't have anything against Sengun, I really hope he does well, because that means the Rockets are doing well. But I feel he is like Jokic....All offense and rarely defense. That won't win a Championship.
and steph curry is a defensive stalwart? besides you are mistaken.... sengun still didnt play not even 10 real and full(30+ minutes nba games) he has a lot of defensive potential...just has to have a coach that rewards defense and to have teammates to relie on...and before all the playing time more blocks than Yanis, Ayton and Nurkic LOLOLOLOL?! well thats a good defensive start for someone that didnt play more than 10 games in nba, now get him a real coach! Alp is not 6’9. He is over 6’10 for sure, you can tell he’s grown, his shoulders are broadening as well. Which says he’s still physically maturing. He’s a solid leaper on the move and pretty quick in short spaces. He isn’t a top speed guy but can be functional on the perimeter if needed I think. Has to work on explosiveness and lateral agility, while gaining strength. This along with developing a reliable jumper is going to set him up for stardom.
Hedo was very flexible player, you could ask him to play at 1,2,3 even 4. He started as a 6'7" and ended up as 6'10", big enough to play power forward.Drafted #16 pick same as Alpi but was very lucky to be coached by greats, Aydin Ors and Ataman at Efes, first 3 NBA years by R.Adelman, 4th year by Popovich and later on Magic's Stan Van Gundy. He had always played with very talented players, Webber,Peja,Bibby.Divac of Kings, Duncan,Parker,Manu,Horry of Spurs, Prime Dwight Howard,Gortat.Rashard Lewis,J.J.Reddick of NBA finalist Magic. He was a more talented and bigger type of John Starks, never disappoints you, get as much as you can. Alpi is not as lucky as Hedo, never employed/trained by Turkish giants (Efes&Fenerbahce), played for nursing teams before NBA and B2B worst team of NBA afterwards under ignorable coach. He is also not flexible as Hedo to play more than Center or occasional PF. But Hedo was never all-star (altough he was once MIP) and also not having a charming personality, to much money oriented man (maddi manevi hahaha).People generally hates him.Contrary to him charming Alpi will be several time all-star, a possible walking triple double machine in 2 years time.If we have a decent coach next year his stats will be around 25/12/8 at the second half of the season.
