I would also say the mask comes off when the same people b****ing about free market principles for the past 40 years complain and want to take action when those free market principles goes against their traditional values.

That tells me they only accept the conditions of a free market only when it conforms to their traditional values which to me shows a one way street approach and hence is fascist like.

Semi-fascist as Uncle Joe would say.

Like why can't a fascist like DeSantis sincerely care about eliminating tax subsidies for mega corps outside the realm of just when corps criticize social policy? Is that a sincere stance by people like DeSantis and his supporters when they complain about corporate tax subsidies only when corporations are "woke". Again, fascist like.

Will Elon be pulling TSLA out of China? I don't think they are very free speech friendly over there?

All this covid crap affects his bottom line because factories are/were shut down due to quarantines......

Lol…. DeSantis….what a tool… pandering to the new bastardized version of free speech your ilk is pushing. They did it with the 2nd amendment….

By the way… you Floridians are welcome from the federal government for kicking in funding for infrastructure improvements. We know your conservatives aren’t too keen on federal spending… except when you depend on it.

Elon is too reliant on China for funding and a marker for Teslas.

We all know that the Chinese already stole the US taxpayer subsidized technology from Tesla.

    Got him bad!

I'm pretty sure that's one of the many joke memos spreading around when everyone was having fun imitating everyone else for a few days. Fun time.

There is also a vetting process for Apple store apps. I mean a technical vetting process. If an app bought through the Apple store bricks your iPhone they will replace it or fix it. Apple isn't going to open themselves up to putting a warranty on a device for software installed outside of their ecosystem. It isn't a free for all like Android. If I brick my Samsung installing random software that's my problem as far as Samsung is concerned.

    All condescending remarks aside -

Jack Dorsey (original founder of Twitter) and Musk are buddies. Dorsey has stated multiple times he is not happy with how Twitter turned out ... less about 'woke' nonsense and more about being open and more decentralized. Im sure he ran into issues on how to fund Twitter early on w/out going into a subscription or advert side of the business.

My understanding is Musk wants to open Twitter up but the difference from Dorsey is that he wants to fully monetize it to its full potential (which is the mission of all companies with investors/shareholders). He is in the process of implementing Signals open source end-to-end encryption for chat. There is also an interesting open source app called Keet.io. Currently it offers peer-to-peer video chat and video. Additionally it will allow a decentralized P2P push apps with the capability to send P2P payments. This basically allows an OnlyFans type of application to be completely decentralized and allow the content creators to bypass all payment rails and receive 100% of they payments.

If Twitter implements this type of protocol, this would allow app creators to completely bypass Apple and Android by going through Twitter, which is a free app on Apple.

Democrats/liberals are leaving twitter; Republicans/conservatives are joining twitter. Win/win. I don't see a problem here.

Lots of ifs… Twitter isn’t the only company looking to break free from Apple’s/Google’s “secret”, walled garden.

Not to mention you are still competing with Whats App, YouTube, TikTok, IG, Snap, etc… which already have strong user bases/ content creation.

Instagram thots and Onlyfans hoes don't care about decentralized bro.

All these bitcoin and blockchain and web3 folks keep telling me about this ideal world ...but i have yet to see it in action. what's stopping them? we sent a man to the moon, clearly we can sell people on this decentralized idea! surely these smart companies wouldn't just pay 30% if it was that easy.....

IG and OF offer an out-of-the-box easy solution and all the marketing/network that comes with it. Setting up a billing system is a royal pain in the ass just to have credit cards still snatch a 3% fee.

Web3 and blockchain is trash. Proprietary lightning networks exists and works well.
Interoperability is still being developed. Admittingly, if it never comes to fruition, Bitcoin is dead. If it succeeds, then it will open up the decentralized P2P markets.
Nobody is going to be sending meaningful sums of money over untested payment systems. But for some dumb odd reason, they will happily hand over larges sums of money for ponzi's
