Sure, everyone plays off the ball, but some are better at it than others. And some get more opportunities than others. I just wish we utilized KPJs biggest strength which is that he is a legit sharpshooter. And yet he's only taken 30 catch & shoot 3s this entire year! I like the idea of everyone handling the ball and everyone playing off the ball, but we should still focus on getting players into the positions where they excel. It's coaching malpractice that KPJ isn't shooting more of these shots. It doesn't mean he doesn't also get to handle the ball - he's also a very good iso player. I like having him iso especially when he gets a good matchup. I just want more of an emphasis on finding him for these shots. He's too good at it to waste this ability.
Guys are expecting algebraic geometry from Silas when the guy doesnt even understand calculus. Its cool to vent, but sometimes you just have to understand that Silas was brought in to coach Harden - when that blew up he was immediately turned into a placeholder/babysitter until the next coach that comes in can employ a better team oriented approach utilizing the team strengths vs superstar hero ball.
Yeah, but how different is that from every weekend? You sicko. Lol. Are you related to the guy that was going to drink his own j*zz?
As I’ve said elsewhere… either Sengun runs the bench of KPJ does. I’ve been in the camp of trying the former.
Problem is that we lack people that can dribble.... right now. Future will bring others. The ones we have are polishing their skills in a tank year in preparation for next year. The more they improve the better.
Time of possession per game 1st 10 games 1. KPJ : 7.2 minutes 2. Green : 4.1 minutes Last 10 games 1. KPJ : 7.1 minutes 2. Green : 4.9 minutes Last 5 games 1. KPJ : 6.9 minutes 2. Green : 5.0 minutes Last night 1. KPJ : 5.3 minutes 2. Green : 5.1 minutes Will be interesting to see how the time of possession split will play out as the season continues.
Post up stIll exist and will forever exist, its just players who are backing their man down (rather mismatch or traditional) are more so kicking it out for a three Some teams in earlier 90/2000's played a position less style but more so defensively which has as you mentioned flipped to the other side Regardless, I see where u coming from
For me personally, I just advocate for whatever produces the most points and gives us the best offense. I don't care if it's 3s, midrange, post ups, iso, whatever. That's why I actually support KPJ iso - he's quite good at it. It's productive offense. And I support Sengun post ups for the same reason. I'd support Demar Derozan midrange too, if he was on this team, because he is so good at it. I don't care if it's in style or out of style, or if it's ugly or "boring" to watch, or if it's non existent in todays game - I just want to produce points. Regarding development, it can sometimes be tough to evaluate a coach on a team that is bad, young, and developing, because it's hard to distinguish between development and ineptitude. Like, is Silas running the offense this way because he is trying to get our guys reps improving upon things that they're really bad at? Or is he running it this way because he's just an idiot? I think my avatar can let you know where I stand on the subject, but it's an interesting debate. I think it's fair to get mad at Silas for the system, though. This dude is an NBA coach and he should develop a system that best suits the strengths of his players. We shouldn't just throw our hands up because he only has one system and refuses to run anything else, that's the sign of a bad coach. People should be mad if we have a bad coach.
