Well yes, but the reaction to Qatar didn't just happen yesterday, it's been years of people scolding FIFA and trying to take action against FIFA and it HAS had an effect.

I get tired of this attitude where the people trying to stop human rights abuses are being pushed back for no reason at all.

Okay, the athletes wear rainbow armbands, whatever, but that's not the extent of activism, that's just one small part of it.

People say "Qatar shouldn't host the World Cup." then get mad at the people that actually want to make sure something like this doesn't happen again.

Also, this is what I'm talking about...

    https://www.hrw.org/news/2018/06/12/fifa-2026-world-cup-bids-test-reforms

This is thanks to 'Woke' activists. It's not thanks to people that continue to tell woke activists to shut up and be quiet.

I feel like this is a wrong take and spits in the face of how celebs and athletes protest and downplays their actual impact.

Athletes that speak out about it in their own way are just doing something what they feel they can, no, it's not something that's going to change the way FIFA operates but it might alert to someone that is more passionate about the subject to actually do something. Ali wasn't the one actually putting in the work to get civil rights pushed through but he was alerting people to the human rights abuses going on and not just here in the states but globally. I guarantee you there was someone that wondered why the German team covered their mouths and learned something new today, if that's ALL it did then it was more than doing nothing about it.

Now imagine if Ali never spoke about it, imagine if he was just quiet and boxed.

Doing or saying nothing about human rights abuses should never be applauded or encouraged.

Its refreshing seeing The World Cup continue with no knee bending to the woke movement. They can cry all they want but the rest of the world does not care about their feelings, they care more about fuuuuuutbol.... Everything would be better if everyone just started ignoring these dumbasses...

Iran security forces have been threatneing the families of the Iranian national team over the protests.

Iran has had a history of applying political pressure on their athletes. An Iranian World Champion level Judoka defected from Iran a few years ago over political pressure that he was facing.
